Honestly, why are the 2.7s as fast as the 3.5s?

Here's my take FWIW,i had a 2011 4X4 Super Cab 4x4 3.5L Eco Boost and 3.55 gears best i ever ran with it was a 14.68@93.45 mph.The 2015 4X4 Super Cab 4X4 2.7L Eco Boost and 3.55 gears i had in 2015 i ran a 14.56@93.07 mph and in 2016 ran a 14.53@92.55 mph both trucks were bone stock. So a 2015 with the 2.7L Eco Boost will spank a similar 2011-2014 F-150 with the 3.5L Eco Boost been there done that. Now i'm sure a 2015 and up Super Cab 4x4 with the 3.5L Eco Boost would probably have spanked my 2015 2.7L Eco Boost truck. To be honest this new 2017 Super Crew 4X4 3.5L Eco Boost 10 speed automatic with 3.55 gears i got this past Monday doesn't feel a whole lot faster then the 2.7L Eco Boost truck although i'm sure it's 600-700 pounds heavier.IMO the 2.7L Eco Boost just seemed to rev quicker and was more responsive.IIRC doesn't the 2.7L Eco Boost have more boost then the 3.5L Eco Boost?Maybe the combination of more boost and the shorter stroke 3.27 for the 2.7L Eco Boost and 3.45 stroke of the 3.5L Eco Boost has something to do with it but who knows!!!!

Turbochargers aren't magic, fellas. They just aren't. It's entirely likely there are very, very small turbos on the 2.7 allowing boost production at lower RPM. However, what that means is smaller turbos run out of breath faster, and especially if they get cranked to higher boost pressures.
I'd love to get my truck and an identical 2.7 ecoboost on an identical dyno on the same day and compare power bands.

I had an idea this thread was going to get real good real quick. I saw a YouTube video of a 2.7 turning a better time, up against a Hemi, at the strip. Is this for real?
That being asked, I can't believe the powerful, smooth acceleration of the 2.7 liter. I went to the dealer wanting the V8, but was sold after driving the 2.7. I didn't get that great sound, but I feel like I got everything else. Longevity? Don't know, but at the rate I'm racking up miles, I've got a little over four years of keeping an eye on them, via this forum, to make up my mind.
