Default Hey Borla S Type Owners. Your tips touch?

Hi -
to all you Borla S Type owners where by you have the sing side exit. Do your chrome tips "touch" together like this? It also makes a "ting ting" sound. Also look how close it is to the quarter panel.
I cant lower it as the hanger will not allow it.

This is on my 2015 XLT SCREW 4x4 v8.

Anyone else have it like this? If so, what did you do about it or leave it alone?

I don’t have that system but I wouldn’t let it stay that way.

can you and another person pull them away from one another?

@rsylvstr
there is a medal bracket under it to keep them that way. another thing I tried to do was use a piece of wood like they use in wedges when installing wiindows in a home. and tap that in there so I dont mar it. still no go. perhaps I need to go even more so it doesnt have a "memory" to go back to touching each other

Borla touring had the same problem. From the underside I stuffed a large phillips wrapped in a microfiber between them and pried them apart.

This seems to be a somewhat common issue on these. There was another member who had the same issue but I'm pretty sure he went directly to Borla for a replacement part. I went with the dual out the rear on my Borla S Type in part to avoid this same issue.

My touring is very close. I had my guy that installed help me pry them apart while up on the lift while installing. They don't touch but I can barely slip a micro fiber towel between them to clean.

I Emailed the vendor (that is used on here RDP motorsport) they said they cant help and to contact Borla directly. If anyone else has this system (which is great system) I would like to see some pics if possible. I am particularly interested in how far the chrome tips are from each other and how far the exhaust is from the edge of the rear quarter where it exits. I cannot adjust this.

Here ya go. Mine is touring and black tips but you get the idea, the tail pipe sections are the same between the Touring, S type and ATAK. My tips did touch but I was able to pry apart a little bit. I did loosen the clamps a little on install and was able to get it a little farther away from the body. Still close though. I am only 45 minutes away from Borla (Johnson City TN) but I am happy with it like it is now...

Loosening the two vertical clamps connecting the rear section, slide the section down a little to get further from the bedside, and rotate towards the rear to tuck them more under the truck. The hanger has enough play to deal with a little adjustment.
