If this is really what Ford is going to put out, I don't like it. The front end looks "clunky" more like a Super Duty and the headlights...Meh. The interior does look pretty nice though and I do like the changes. If the real thing looks like these pics, then I guess I'll just keep my FX and put a SC on it and call it done. I do like my FX. Jus my opinion. :o)
Everyone has their opinions, but I just still don't see how some people don't see the Atlas in the 2015. Throw a lift/level and tires on it and you have the Atlas. This is the closest resemblance of a production vehicle to its concept vehicle I've seen in a while.

I agree and I'm actually amazed at just how similar the producton came to the Atlas. I was expecting a huge deviation, but the front is spot-on and the rear is simply more flush or inset on the tail lights. The interior follows the same vent lines and general layout; just that the blue "show" or display lighting is gone and some of the mocked-up buttons and trim pieces were re-worked (which is to be expected).

I'm counting the months until I can order a 2015; followed closely by either a leveling kit or 4" lift and 35" Good Year Duratracs or BFG KM2s.

A lot of people are afraid of change in anything. We are all creatures of habit but must accept change as time moves on. Vehicles changing as technology advances is the least of our worries as far as change is concerned in my opinion.

Some guys just want to try to justify to themselves that their current truck was "the best year" ever built since Henry Ford built the Model-T. I think it's childish personally.

My truck is a 2010, do I love it? Sure it's continuing to serve all my needs every single day, but a lot of very smart designers and engineers at Ford's HQ have been working hard improving what I currently have and they have yet to disappoint so I have no doubt that the 2015 will be better in everyway.

I saw it at Detroit this weekend and I have to say I was less than impressed, it really came across as cheap looking, I'm not sure why. The 4x4 stickers are fugly but I guess easily changed. The overall design looked a bit unbalanced. Grill to big, weird tailgate thing going on. I'm probably just used to the current design.

The other thing that struck me as odd is how the dash and the door panels line up, just didn't look like it flowed well.

I'm sure it will grow on me, but those are first impressions.

For every person who walks away from Ford because of the new design, two people will walk away from Chevy or Dodge for the same reason.

Ford will remain on the top of the truck market, period.

So Toyota is going to be number 1 soon?
Or maybe even Nissan ?

Honda also has a brand new Ridgeline coming out in a couple years.

Totally disagree. This I think should be a bigger discussion than the 5.0 vs eco debate. I believe there is just no room or need for a small diesel in a half ton truck. No benefit vs our current gas engines whether comparing to eco or 5.0. It certainly won't pull more, it may get a little better mileage but now where near enough better to pay for itself considering initial cost and higher maintenance costs and higher per gallon or liter fuel costs, and it will most certainly be heavier meaning decreased payload capacity for the truck. Where is the benefit?

apparently you didn't read the last line of my post, which states that I think Ford will stay on top of the truck market

With regard to a diesel motor, why not let the new Ram 1500 diesel be the test subject on the public? I'm willing to bet that's what Ford is doing. Why start from scratch on an engine that you wouldn't be sure would be a profitable move when a competitor is doing it for you?
