Would this also be an acceptable way to store a handgun if you are at a location where you can't carry? I have been considering a console vault, but this may also help serve that same purpose of providing a secure/lockable storage location. Plus it seems for a determined thief, this decked system may be a bit harder to pry into vs a console.

The DECKED system when locked and combined with your tailgate lock is a good solution. We would say that like the cab of your vehicle, if someone wants in, they will get in. It's impossible to say which is safer. The advantage of your cab is the alarm and other measures. The advantage of the DECKED system, is most people won't know what is in there or even notice that there is something in your bed.

We don't purport that the DECKED system is fail safe. In some states it does meet the requirement of a gun safe when locked in conjunction with tailgate locks.
Thanks!

Out and about just about every single weekend. Hunting/camping in the fall. Snowboarding in the winter. Lake in the summer (wakeboarding and wakesurfing). Dirtbikes in the spring. Would definitely get a workout. I'm sure I could put it to work during the week as well.

@Decked you should make a trunk style or drawer system for the back flooring of a CrewCab. I never use the back for passengers but I do use it for my dogs and would still like to keep some stuff in the cab under the dogs. This would also help out thais0n with his gun locker issue. you could use the threaded holes the subwoofer uses to bolt the box down.
If you could make it with 2inch memory foam and a water-resistant/proof cover that would be great.

Ok, Last minute entry..

I saw this product a few weeks ago and was a little iffy about how much bed space it would take up on a standard bed. I guess from your site you only make them for the 5.5' bed? If you're wanting to put it up to a test, I'd be willing to give it a shot.

My truck is a 2015 FX4 Lariat SuperCrew with the 6.5' bed. It's my daily driver, but I use my trucks... They get used for everything from driving to work, to grocery getting (literally lol) to hauling dirt. I typically use it for weekend camping trips, hunting in the fall and winter, hauling firewood (which doesn't leave much room for tools when the bed is full of wood), I haul my canoe, ATV's, and tools for renovation jobs on the house I'm currently fixing to sell, and the next one I'm buying. My truck is really a Swiss Army knife, I use it for a little bit of everything.

I just want to say that whoever at decked came up with this marketing strategy deserves a raise. Although no review has yet been given, your brand is definitely out there. I've went from wanting a camper shell, to looking at a hard tonneau, to now considering a DECK in conjunction with one or the other. I'm still hoping, like many others, for the opportunity to test your product. Good luck in choosing your reviewers. You've already gained publicity and praise, it can only get better from here.
