Default Help with ideas on 5.0 exhaust

Am looking to cut out the factory muffler, replace with a aftermarket with a little tone. I don't want crazy loud or any drone. I have a 2015 King Ranch and don't want the high school mud truck sound. Just a good tone while normal driving, and idling. I have ran flowmaster before and it wasn't bad, but is there something a little toned down from that?

I read the Magnaflow 12249 may not be too bad of a sound.... But haven't found a video of the 5.0 with that exhaust. SI/SO is also the plan.

I do plan to cut the exhaust tip off right after the last bracket and put a turn down on. Not a fan of tail pipes and don't want dual exhaust either.

Thanks for any video links and suggestions!

I got the Flowmaster and wish ever day I would have went with the Roush exhaust. Whatever you do, stay stainless.

I have the Roush system and based on what the OP said, I think it will be too loud for what he wants. I like it but it is pretty darn loud.

Here is a link to a bunch of Sound clips that Stage 3 did of different exhausts on the 5.0. This may help you find the sound you are after to go after that muffler. The clips start about halfway down this page link. Hope this helps: https://www.f150forum.com/f38/5-0l-f...35564/index13/

Have you considered doing a resonator delete?

Cutting the muffler and leaving the resonator is going to be loud. I deleted the resonator on my 2014 5.0 and it gained a little bit of volume without being obnoxious.

I have the Flowmaster 40's dual exhaust system and keep the resinators and sounds great but not too loud. Here is a video

What is the drone like when driving?

The tone is not bad and the rev is not bad with that at all.

I'm planning on getting the Delta Flow 50 SI/SO on mine and leaving the factory piping alone all the way out. Don't want any fancy looks, just a little more sound. I have always had Flowmaster on every V8 I have ever had and they always sound fantastic.

In my opinion, Flowmaster is the "correct" sound for a V8 Ford. I have them on 3 of the 4 V8 Fords I currently run. Kid B runs Borlas on the 98 4.6 Mustang and they just sound like angry bees in a bucket. I can't help but grin when my Coyote's start, punch them and they really just sound "right".
