The SAT antenna is known to leak. You have to drop the front part of the headliner in order to get to the nut that hold the SAT antenna on. If you remove the antenna, just use RTV to create a new seal/gasket when you put the antenna back.
Ok I pulled the side of the headliner down. Cannot see any evidence of leakage. Put plenty of water around antenna, but no leakage.

I did replace the cabin filter when this all started. It was dry. The AC drain is not clogged - it drips outside. Even if it was clogged I would think it would smell all the time not just after raining.

Sorry to hear that. I had no odor for the 1st two years, this all started here in the last 4-5 months. How long have you been dealing with this? I don't think I am getting a large amount of water intrusion maybe a few fl oz. on some fabric/insulation/carpet/foam. Keep us posted if you figure it out. I will too.

My dads 2015 scab had this. Dealer fixed under warranty. I forget exactly what it was, but something on the driver side for sure.

I bought the truck last October and it didn't start until it warmed up here in OK. The dealership kept it for a week and tested it extensively but no luck. Currently living in an apartment waiting on our new house so for the time being, I'm stuck with the smell after the rain but at least it's cooling off which should help.

I would definitely try to check behind the rear seats when it rains, that's where mine was and I couldn't ever get it to leak with just a water hose. A couple days after it rained it was still soaking wet back there.

it might have been dry but was it discolored and musty?

I had this issue on our 2016 Explorer. washed it one day - started it up in the drive way - thought it smelled too much like soap (my car soap has a smell).

shrugged and parked it.

2 days later smelled like wet gym socks sitting on a radiator. couldn't find anything nothing looked like a leak. soaked the car door - no wet carpet etc.

finally - read someone else post about horrid HVAC smell - took out the cabin filter and sure enough. Smelled bad- not horried but not great - that amplified when you push large volumes of air across it. It got water on it during the wash - soaked into the filter with the dirt already on it - mildewed.

replaced the filter - soaked the box with lysol - soaked the AC inlet (under the hood cowl) with lysol. USe the whole can. ran the AC for a bit - let it sit.

finally 3 days latter it wasn't smelling. HOwever hard rain event (torrential downpour) and the smell starts to come back. If you can't find a leak and have dry carpets - I'm look harder at this.

Just got mine back after about 2 weeks at the dealership....no resolution or leaks found. I had them change the cabin filer and truck smells better in general but no hard rain in about a week. Very frustrating and don't know what else to try.
