Default Heavy-Duty Payload Package

For those with the heavy duty payload package, how is the ride. I am about to order a new bare bones stock truck for my landscaping company. I will be towing a small trailer every day and picking up soil and mulch in the bed, my current 2017 xlt sport handles that just fine, is the $1300.00 worth or can I go after market and add air bags to keep it level. Thanks for any input.

It rides pretty good, better when loaded down a bit. Similar to an F250 w/o the FX4 package. I use mine as my daily driver, kid/dog hauler, and hook up an 8000 lb trailer on occasion. Very capable truck and worth every dime. I've done the E rated tire/air bag/bilstein 5100 route on previous F150 to handle load, and the HDPP is hugely better. No comparison really.

Hi .
I do have a 2016 HDPP supercab 8 fi bed. That truck rides so smooth and tows so fine. The ride is better than my wife's Subaru Outback. I never compared with a non HDPP but the ride is real smooth. Good luck.
I only see good advantages having a HDPP ( if you need it of course) those are nice tools. It is always fun to have some weight without be over the truck capacity.

I would agree with this 100%. 2016 HDPP supercrew here and it also rides better than our Chevy Traverse.

I have a 17 HDPP screw and have it loaded down almost to the max with E tires loaded to 80 psi and it rides 100 times smoother then my 15 super duty did ok truck so far i am rough on it (access and mine roads and lots of weight) now have 90000 kilometers on it and things are starting to wear out faster then I expected

To me the non-HDPP F150s have too mushy of a ride. I don't like to wallow around on the suspension with a little weight in the truck. I think the HDPP rides right. It's firm yet smooth. It corners flat. And it doesn't get jittery in the front end the way an F250/F350 does with a gas engine (diesels seem to ride much better). As long as you don't expect it to feel like a 1970's Cadillac, I think you'll like it.

Today I drove 370 miles with 1,200 pounds in the truck. It still felt firm, cornered flat and rode smooth.

I have the HD and wanted to tighten up the ride a bit. Lowered it 2" with belltech struts and shocks and it handles the bumps with much less bounce now, feels like a sports car.
Inner city tool hauler and occasionaly drywall.

BushMonster - is that an HDPP or is that a 2.7 with the HD payload package? I'm guessing the latter based on the wheels. The two are very different packages.
