I'm considering replacing my APIM to get SYNC 3.3 in my 2018 (302a) with a newer version of maps for the NAV, and want to add HD at the same time. I have subscribed hoping that someone can say definitively whether there is anything other than the radio head to swap (e.g., a specific type of APIM). My truck was built early in the model year (Nov 2017) even though I bought it in July 2018... so the maps were almost 2 years out-of-date at purchase, now 3 years, give or take. The agreement with the dealer to get latest version of maps provided nothing but frustration, just so y'all understand the APIM swap.

I don't think you can go to a 3.3 APIM. I think there might be some compatibilities issues with the truck and the new APIM
