Default Halogen fog lamps on 2015's

Has anyone noticed that the fog lamps on the 2015's are halogen while the headlights are led? Does anyone know why the fog lamps would not be led like head lamps? It looks ridiculous with led and halogen lamps mixed on same truck.

Thanks guys,

Jason

Many have noticed & agree with you. Searching the forum will show discussions from a week or two ago.

I agree it's ridiculous that they did that especially with the LEDs!
We just changed ours and looks amazing and matches colour perfectly!

These are the ones we went with:

Your not worried about the fan getting wet? And halogen or (yellow) light is better to see through fog with. So that's why they kept them yellow

Haven't thought that far yet lol We'll see how they work out.
I guess it's a personal preference but much prefer the LED fogs

I have wondered the same thing my wife's jeep is the same and if you watch a lot of makes are like that, must have something to do safety or something

It is with safety. I am worried about the fan getting wet on the led bulbs. Thinking about doing hids in the fog lights instead. Should brighten things up a bit

Maybe Ford still treats fog lights like a device to help you see in the fog rather than as a fashion accessory? That would account for using bulbs and enclosures that are the right intensity, colour and aim for use in foggy conditions.

Just a guess...

I have always put 3000k HIDs in my fogs mainly because I like the look more then anything.

Some good reads on how yellow fog lights do NOT help cut through fog.
