Wow. At least they gave you market value now you at least have a chance in getting something equivalent... or if you could wait a while maybe something a step up!
Wow. Just wow. Glad you got a solid settlement, but as others have said, just blows to see your truck take a beating like that. For sure not a great situation now, but down the road, will be one hell of a story.
Not a bad idea to buy it back if it comes to that but honestly, too much work for what I have going on right now. Repair estimate is $14,583. Every piece of metal including roof is to be replaced with exception of left rear fender and left rear door. He said normally it would be an easy write off but because of the market and how high demand is the salvage price might be high enough that USAA might not total it. It’s right on the line. Should hopefully know by tomorrow. But, I would be surprised if they did t total it. Just in case anyone know how to get a good deal on a new F-250 or Ram 2500? Seems like a rough time to buy.
I would ne that much work to make it road worthy, Id bet 3k or less. Then sell it for 15k and make some easy money. Of course this depends on how much you can buy it back for from the ins co.
Just got the email. My truck is totaled. Not going to lie though it kind of blows my mind that they are going to pay me almost exactly what I payed for it new 3 years and 60000 miles ago. 2017 XLT 302A 4x4 with the 2.7L. Still have the original tires. Granted I got a good deal of course. But that just tells me that now that I have to buy a new truck. This is going to hurt. On the purchasing side of the house.
