Default Hail Damage

Had a rough day Saturday. While camping in Gulf Shores Alabama we had a heavy hail event roll through around 3am. When I came out to look at the damage I almost cried. 2017 XLT 302A. I’ve been through hail storms before but never like this. Reports were soft ball to “teacup” sized hail. I fear she may be totaled. Any thoughts?

I feel for you. My trifold looks worse than yours, but my truck actually didn't get any dents. We had a big hail storm here last year and this is typical of what the damage looked like. Good luck with your claim.

Wow my wife's CX-5 has had hail damage but not like that. I think I'd be hoping it was totaled if I was you. Thankfully your insurance rates should not go up nearly as much as they would if it was collision damage.

Sadly, it looks totaled based on the damage to the pillars. My '16 I had got hail damage before I bought it, and had a spot in the A-pillar they fixed with PDR, but it wasn't as severe as yours. I hope it isn't, but it looks like it is.

Man, thats terrible! Same storm came through Louisiana earlier in the day, but the hail was much much smaller. I had some about the size of a dime pepper me while driving and I did not have any damage. With the pillar damage that will probably be a "total"....

That sucks, man. We had softball sized hail about a year ago. Thankfully my truck made it though ok, but definitely took some hits.

If the adjuster totals it, may still be worth while to have a body shop give you a quote. Just depends on what kind of financial situation you're in with the truck. The main issues is the pillars like others have said. Everything else is recoverable/fixable

That sucks, sorry for the damage. Good thing you weren’t in a tent! Ive been through that before with my 03 F150. Milage was high and it was an older truck so I took the payout, about 5k$. How did the trailer fare? Any pics of the hail?
