Followed the guidance from thread #1074 — cut out carefully and use black epoxy “plastic weld” to weld in place.

BE SURE YOU ALIGN THE CAMERA BEFORE WELDING. Otherwise, the 360 view is off alignment and will not look right. Clamp camera to grill and do a “snug install — adjust as needed and then pull grill off and weld. After an hour the epoxy is firm enough I went ahead and installed the grill completely and let it cure in place for the next few days.

Both look really good. I liked that the galaxy moto was already black. But I wanted to Ford lettering. Since i couldn't find the o and d only f and r, I decided to keep the paramount style one.and returned the galaxy moto one. Both were shipped super FAST! got them in like 2-3 days. I also wasn't feeling the extra lower lip on galaxy moto grill.... The lower bar of the F was kinda crooked.. But once on, can't really tell.
It's color is more of a grey ish.. So I did 3 (maybe 4) coats of plasti dip. Also, plasti dipped 2 coats on the leds because I didn't want to see the orange lense. And I believe they would have looked yellow as lense looked fairly clear.
At night, they look a dark orange that matches orange lights from. Headlights

Here are some pictures.

It was during daylight in garage.

Looks great. I'm just trying to decide if I should paint mine. I have the XLT sport black, so the bright grey raptor grill not to sure about. My question is, why plasti dip and not flat black paint? How was it painting with the plasti dip spry paint? It looks great, but any runs? Id' like to do it myself rather than sending it to body shop.

They sell the raptor grill in black now, not just grey. Unless you already bought it in grey, then I would just paint it.

Good info. I think that solves my question on whether to paint or not. Looks great in flat black.

For those that have had their grills painted, what are you paying? I wen to two, and both were quoting 200 to 300 to paint it. They said it's a lot of work because of the grate backing.

Any tips on DIY jobs?

I had the grates painted black and the letters painted race red and then got it re-wrapped. Getting it re-wrapped cost more then getting it painted.

Crap, one of them was Maaco! OK, I have to take it to another body shop. 3rd time's the charm. I can leave with $130 - $150.
