Default Grabbed some lumber today

Finishing off my deck went to Lowe's to get the lumber. After I put it in the truck I grabbed a strap to secure it from sliding around, two different people asked why I was strapping it. I said so it won't blow out of the back, is it really that hard to understand they slide back and forth when you turn.

Things that make you go Hummmmmmmmmmm. I hear ya. I can't count the amount of times I have seen people with a mattress on top of their car with the windows down and one piece of string or twine wrapped around it through the windows in the middle of it. On the Interstate with the front blowing up in the wind at speed with their arms hanging out the window trying to hold in down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some people are completely "brain dead" imo! Freaken unsecured 2 bye flying out the back of a pickup could kill someone......... Always, always secure lumber and especially if it's sticking out the back of the bed!

You should have taken the strap off and asked them to follow you home.

If only you had a new Denali. You could have drop the mini top tailgate and had a notch for the wood.

As a motorcycle rider, I thank you for strapping the load in place.

I strapped 3 2x8 x 8 the other day. I tend to take turns fast. I just went tie down to tie down and over them though. Really tight.

Always, always secure any type of load in the bed especially long items like lumber or pipes.

And if long items like lumber stick far out past the bed, a red flag flag of some type is needed at least per my State law to let drivers behind be aware of it.

i am a rider myself and i strap everything down, i would hate for it to fly out and some motorcycle rider to hit it and crash because of being lazy. Actually the other day i was going around a double s curve and there was a good size box in the road and i thought to myself that if some motorcycle rider was to hit that it wouldnt turn out good so i stopped and removed it from the road.

I don’t like having weight on the tailgate like that, if it doesn’t fit with the tailgate up I lay it flat and strap it all together.
