Gotta be kidding, nice job Ford (not)..
So, I recently had a recommended ex-Ford service person install a front level into my new truck. I was lurking around making sure the install was going ok and noticed he was not torqueing anything down during installation. He explained nobody at his shop ever used a torque wrench and just put it on to what the impact was set at. I didn't question it at the time because after all I was having him do the work because he used to work at a Ford service shop.
When I got the vehicle home I was preparing to take my family on a long road trip and wanted to make sure for myself the torque specs were where they needed to be. I looked on this forum for an answer to the question of 2015 front torque specs and only found one post. On the post is said the lower strut bolts were supposed to be at 406 LBS !! I remember the old strut bolt that went into my 2004 Fx4 was a big honkin bolt that was supposed to be around 350 lbs but this couldn't be right for the new two style lower strut bolts right??
Anyway, I called my local Ford dealer (where I bought the truck from only two months ago) and asked for some assistance in this matter. I first went to service who then transferred me to parts who didn't know the answer and then back to service where I finally got someone in the shop. The person I spoke with said he did not know the answer to my question about the torque specs on the lower strut. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
So, I asked if I brought the truck into Ford's shop this afternoon they would have no idea what to torque my truck to. He then got crappy with me and said I would have to talk to the service manager to see if he could give out the information. Of course I tried the number he gave and it went to a voice mail.
I am not trying to get the KFC secret chicken recipe for God's sake, I just want some torque specs from a $50,000 vehicle I bought two months ago!!! Ahhhhh.......

IMO dealers cause more bad blood and issues than Ford ever could. I think Ford would rather you have the proper torque values than not.

Yeah, idrive I guess your right it was the dealer not Ford who I had the issue with today. Sometimes as a consumer it's hard to see the difference between the two. We both probably know many people who have not purchased (insert any vehicle make here) products anymore after having a bad experience with the dealer.
ford4ever66 I very much appreciate the information you provided, without it I would have probably over torqued the bolts and broken them off. Thanks!!!!

It's not worth 50,000 thats just what you paid for it. How much you spent should not entitle you to anymore customer service than a man who sent 18k on an economy car.

One awesome post from Texas and one sensitive post from Texas. C'mon man, I'm all for democracy and equality for all. My point in putting the cost in my first post was if Ford or better yet a Ford dealer expects their consumers to pony up a lot of money for a product the better course of action would be to provide the best possible customer service.

Worst hairday ever...
You asked if he knew the torque spec and he didn't, why would you expect the guy working in the shop to have torque specs memorized?
