GoPro Power Source

Hey All. I had an '11 F150 wit a GoPro camera stuck on my windshield. It was plugged in full time with no battery (Originally it was and cooked said battery) I had the power cable looped around the rear view mirror and down to the 12v plug on the dash. On my new F150 it has a cover that flips up to access 12v/115v ports. I would rather not route the cable like that and have the cover flipped up all the time.
My question is ... Is there another way or place I could pull 12 volts to feed the camera but not have cables hanging out? I was wondering about tappig into something in the overhead control panel where the sunroof, interior lighting switches are but dont see an easy way to get in there plus finding the right wires on the USB cable.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Search for "dash cam power." I ran a cable in the headliner, down the passenger side A-pillar and into the fuse block in the passenger kick panel. I tapped fuse #36 with an add-a-circuit fuse tap. My dash cam now has power with ignition and the power wire is completely invisible.

To add to Delta's post, within one of the threads (may be the same one), another member wired up a circuit in the fuse panel that is always on. From the sounds of it, this may help you as it will me when I get my dash cams moved over as I leave them on 24/7.

Yeah... instead of the fuse in position #36, you could tap #24, which is central lock/unlock. That should be constant on.

Here's a great fuse box diagram I found from another thread.

If you don't want to go the fuse route, check out the HomeLink wiring thread here.
