Screwed again, I wanted 20” wheels so the truck sits higher off the ground, we have looking flooding in my neighborhood
and I need a “tall” truck. Rims don't make the truck taller. Tires do.
So much for that idea, the 18” tires are 32.1” and the 20”s are 31.9”. That's pretty marginal
Wonder if I can ask Ford to mount 275/65r/20s without causing the whole system of bureaucracy to collapse. 275/65/20 is 34" tire. You mean 275/55/20?
Also I noted now that the 4x4s have all terrain tires, probably noisy on the highway and my truck will never be off-road if I can help it. (4x4 and Max towing to haul boats, not to go off-road.. Will ask dealer to get the tires I need.
How hard can it be...? Stock all terrains are silent. Hell, my BFG KO2s were just as silent. My Ridge Grapplers had a slight hum.
Overall, don't worry about it. As long as you're getting the 20s as ordered, upgrading the tire sizes just a tad will barely have an effect on your speedometer. I went from a 32" to a 33" and my speedomoter was off by 1 mph after 68 mph. You're average fuel economy will be slightly off as well but nothing drastic.

Ha, pretty marginal for you maybe, but I am an **** engineer type of geek.
(drives my wife nuts: I can’t sleep if there is a burned out light bulb on my boat: What do you think the engine compartment looks like on this boat? Spotless... I even call survey inspectors AND the US Coast Guard to come and inspect my boat to make sure I did not miss anything. Then I ask the Coast Guard to inspect to Commercial standards in case I want to run charters: They sent 4 officers, I passed with flying colors. I am nuts, telling you
If I go to the hassle and expense of ordering a vehicle, I want everything to be just as I want, paid for and perfect, no compromise, no bs.
At any rate, it will be fixed.
Thx guys.

Aye mate: I am very easy to get along with, great sense of humor and have lots of fun in life.
Problem is: Brainwashed after working as commercial pilot for 37 years: No margin for error when you are shooting an approach to low minimums with an engine on fire and 400 passengers behind you
Lighten up Franchis...?
I wish, but all the nitty gritty detail has been beating into your brain after 600 hours in the flight simulators with one emergency after another..
Wrong wheels on the truck? Wrong tires? Wrong speed on the speedometer because of the wrong tire size?
Not on my airplane, either do it right or don’t do it.
I was easy going and sloppy before I went to flight school in 1978. Heck, I had long hair and rode motorcycles
Now I am ****, but it kept me alive, and my passengers.
Sorry bro, I need the right wheels, the right tires and the right speed read out down to 1/10 mph or better

I went from the original 31.7" diameter tires to a set that is 34.5" tall. Needless to say my speedo was all by a lot. Using Forscan & VBox with a 20Hz GPS then tweaking hex values I was able to dial in my speedometer to what I consider close enough. So it can be done if its that important to you.

Error Before

After

Ha, nice Mike.
Yeah, it can be done for sure.
I would rather get the correct wheels and tires from the factory, instead of patching up somebody’s mistake.
Hoping this will not be a stupid problem that will cause me to lose sleep:
Lets start over:
1) I am ordering a $50k +truck.
2) I want tall wheels due to local flooding in the hurricane season. I want to pay extra for it. ($1075)
3) I just now realize the 20” wheel/tire combo is Smaller than the stock 18”. (Rolling eyes icon now)
4) Trying to reach out to sales team at dealer to get proper wheel/tire combo for my special order.
5) Waiting to see what can be done.
6) Hoping I don’t have to buy a new $650 set of tires upon delivery because the system is too rigid.
7) Ready to cancel the whole shebang if they cant work with me.
8) How hard can it be to get big wheels on a special order truck?

If you go to the Ford.com online build tool for an XLT there are only a three different tire sizes available with several different tread and sidewall configurations. It shows a 17" 265/70R17(31.7), 18" 275/65R18 (32.1 )and 20" 275/55R20 (32.1").

There simply isn't many options for larger tires from the factory unless you buy a Raptor.

Not many choices with the 20” wheels and 4x4 setup: Only /55 All Terrain, Probably Hankooks.
If I want all season Michelin’s, max size without a leveling f kit, as per the dealer is 275/60r/20.
Dealer quoted me $300 a piece plus $50 for mounting, also a piece. $1,400.00.
Esrimated Dleivery date 8-24-2018.

That sounds about right on the max size not leveled, the dealer is going to go conservative. The price seems kind of high for that size, I paid $1200 for 265/65R20 BFG K02 and paid Discount Tire$150 for mounting and road force balancing. It's a larger (34.5") E-Rated tires. The ride is a bit firm, I expected that going in.

I think If I were buying tires in that size AT tire I would consider the
Falken Wildpeak AT3W Falken Wildpeak AT3W
. Several folks on here have them and seem to like them a lot and the price is real fair.
