No. Been trying not to have it happen. Sometimes my steering gets real stiff after, even tho it don't make sense. I do have a 7" ready lift. When that happens I have to get it to pop and or slam to get it to free back up. I don't know why it makes no sense why the steering would be effected.
Hoping this kit will fix it.

I picture the gears of the hub and the gears of the iwe tooth on tooth. Putting pressure on the steering which the electronic rack don't like. So once I stomp on it going up a hill it pops again meshing the gears and freeing the steering. That is the only theroy I can come up with. It's not a constant popping or clicking. More of a bang. I'm sure related to the iwe.

That is interesting you mentioned steering tightness. I know my hubs are staying unlocked and working properly with all my test(Including hard acceleration while seeing if it loses vacuum on the pump gauges and it didn't) But it's funny you talk about the steering because I swear depending each drive I go on the truck can feel drastically different. Morning time usually is the best. By my third drive of the day to go home and even lunchtime drives, I would swear up and down my steering felt considerably tighter then the drive before. It also feels like the truck rides a little rougher those times to. Keep in mind this drive I am referring to is from the house to work, from work to the house for lunch, back to work again, and back home after work. So it's not like im talking about different drive feelings on completely different roads everyday. I am taking literally all the same roads back in forth 2-3 times a day. Which helps me notices small differences I guess. Im just rolling with it now though. The truck will condition me eventually to all its nuances.

Mine do the same thing, but it's likely from them grinding for a year before the dealer decided to do the tsb for the check valve. They refuse to look into it so im just waiting for it to fail completely before i fix it out of pocket, plus they aren't available last i checked lol.

I won't say it isn't the spring. My dealer told me a few months back, that some of the IWEs they got in, had way too much grease in them. You guys might have that problem.

I can't wait to get rid of them. Once the kit comes in I'll have to make time to get it done. I have the extended warranty but it's a $100 deductable if they do work or $50 if they check it out and don't think there is a prob. It's $50 for the cheap iwe. Around $100 for the Ford one. I already changed the one way valve. I'm done with them. If they made lock outs I would gladly do that.

Seems high for the OEM, Tasca Ford lists them for $36USD. I would never use the cheaper one, sounds like a Dorman part.

Wow, your right. They really came down in price.
I just got done putting in the eliminator kit by RCV. The right iwe was going. Humming in 2 wheel. The left was popping out under load. Found out that the old iwe that went bad and was bad for so long (cause dealer couldn't hear it) had wore the teeth on the CV joint a little bit on the outer edge. Just enough that the ring gear of the kit wouldn't just slide right on. Had to play around a little bit. You couldn't notice it by just looking and I didn't when I replaced it a few months ago. So that explains why it would slip out of 4 wheel so easy. Never would engage all the way. The iwe gear is real skinny to start with. The right side slid right on.

Good feed back thanks. Good tip on that wear, you'd think the ring would wear off before it damaged that. Wow.

Yes, now that I know the CV side can where down enough to prevent mesh fully, I will check for it more closely if I do another iwe replacement on another truck. You would never notice if you weren't looking for it real hard. I never noticed visually until I tried to mesh something with it. At 1st I thought the new ring gear was the wrong number of teeth.
I was picturing the spring on the inside being weak or broke. I have tore apart old ones before and you wouldn't believe the rust inside from that spring.
