Yes, the static is gone! My dealer worked on it for a week. First they replaced the speaker (no effect). Then they rewired the speaker (put new terminals on all wires, no effect). Then they did something behind the head unit (no effect). Finally, they replaced an amp or some module behind the upper part of the back seat (driver side) and that did it! My service rep said one could still hear it if an ear was placed right next to the speaker and the only way to fix it 100% was to remove all wiring between amp & speaker, which involves removing all seats, carpet, & dash. He recommended against that I agreed! I never hear it anymore and am very happy. Gotta give a shout-out to Duval Ford in Jax for their tenacious resolution of the issue (had a loaner while it was in the shop).
