If the truck is paid off and you have 20k cash to play with, then get a 20k Mustang. If you plan on modding regardless, then get a 13 or so 5.0 and save up for parts to throw at it. Careful, you could go down a rabbit hole chasing HP.

Last week, after almost 30 years of driving nothing but Mustangs, I traded my last Mustang for my first F-150 without looking back.

Same coyote engine, more versatile and a lot more comfortable. No regrets.

that's why I got both. best of both worlds, 3.5 eco in the truck for towing and hauling and coyote in the mustang for power, speed and sound.

Or.... You could do like I did. Keep the F-150 and buy a Camaro.
