Default Received a recall notice from Ford today re: auto cruise control

On my way home from work today, I had the Auto Cruise Control (ACC) engaged and a silver truck slowed down in front of me to turn right onto a gravel road, as I got close to where he had turned (he was well out of my way), my brakes engaged and the ACC slowed me wayyyyy down, like from 55 to 35 in about 2 seconds as I was passing by where he had just turned. It was pretty alarming and luckily no one was right behind me.
Get home, open my mailbox and find a recall notice from Ford saying that the ACC can unexpectedly engage the brakes when passing a reflective tractor trailer (like a tanker truck). The fix is to take it into the dealer to have the ACC "reprogrammed" - Anybody else gotten this recall notice? Wonder how they "fix" it.

I received the notice yesterday, had the recall done two weeks ago. They are supposed to check the aim of the radar and update the software.

It's hard for it to know how to handle turning vehicles. It just sees something that might be a problem and plays it safe. You learn to see this coming and hit cancel till you pass it then get back up to speed and hit set.

Yup got ours yesterday.

It has only happened to us once. Mountain freeway, semi in the right lane, barrier to the left of us, and the brakes slam on. Freaking scary.

Truck has an appointment for reg service/oil change today, I will ask them about it. I am fearful of them messing other stuff up.

Had our software update done today. Tried it on the way home. All I get is a message on the screen that says, "Adaptive Cruise Control Not Available". Anyone else run into this?

It happen to me when I started my truck getting ready to leave the dealers service lane it displayed the message, "Adaptive Cruise Control Not Available". Showed it to the service tech and he said they have to reprogram it again. They did and I haven't seen the message since however, it's only been a couple of weeks and to the dealer's defense it was there first 2015 ACC reprogram they did. Did the recall reprogram of the ACC fix the issue? Well, the jury is still out on that one.

I would suggest to make another service appointment with your dealer

I would have turned around. Unacceptable that it did that. Dealer apparently did not road test.

Got mine on 10/30 waiting for the cooled seat parts and will get it all done at the same time, per service manager.
