Future 400+ hp v8??

I drove a 6.2 Raptor and a week later a 5.0. That with 3.31s. The 5.0 was still pretty impressive but thanks to the forum members here went with a custom order 3.73. Glad I did. It hauls *** and sounds great.

There are whole ecoboost classes in BITD. There is no reason a TT 5.0 wouldn't be allowed to race. Danzio's trophy truck is twin turbo, and it's far bigger in displacement than a 5.0! Ford won't be doing a TT 5.0, but it would be bitchin' if they did.

Besides, Trophy truck unlimited (the only class that might possibly allow F/I in the future) is filled with million dollar rides - hardly the every mans class which is what the Raptor was marketed towards.
The Raptor was billed as a truck that with some minor mods could participate in BAJA. That's why engine class matters, if you also have to spend 600k+ on top of the sticker price, it's out of reach for 99% of the population.

I had a 6.2L with 5star tune as well, now have a 3.5L ecoboost, the truck being 700lbs lighter than my 6.2 was makes a big difference, that 3.5L is a beast, stock it feels faster than my tuned 6.2L did, instance power just like the 6.2 had too, dont have to wait like earlier ecos, idk if 365hp is true on the 2015 ecos, sure feels like alot more

The point is it isn't matched to an existing class. You can't claim 'born in baja' if the engine is a disqualifier for anything but say Pro 1 TT. There is no twin turbo v8 class in BAJA - period. They may make one one day but for now the big boys are N/A. Danzio is running a F/I in lower races so who knows, they might open pro 1 or create a new class

And Baja has nothing to do with what motor Ford puts in the Raptors. I only know of one "Raptor" actually racing and it's pretty much a fully built prerunner with nothing Raptor left. It would be stupid to build a race truck off a Raptor as nothing would be left but the cab and portions of the frame.
Saying "The Raptor was billed as a truck that with some minor mods could participate in BAJA" is like saying a Jeep Rubicon could go race King of the Hammers with a few mods. Not even close. The Raptor is awesome for what it was built for; racing isn't what it was designed for.
What do I know......... Danzio tunes our motors, we're one of the only teams running a Ford motor in class 1, and we'll be racing the Baja 500 next weekend.
