Pennzoil ULTRA Platinum is probably one of the best oils on the market. Several tech's on here have recommended it for use in the Ecoboost.
Its beginning to be harder and harder to find.

If you have some time to read about oil. Thus guy is an engineer that spent a lot of time testing oil and pointing out which oils have the best protection. Be prepared, it's a long read sometimes dry but it seems to have a lot of info that bitog overlooks.
It gets updated has he tests other oils.

I've spent a lot of time reading his stuff but there seems to be some critical and basic things left out of his testing (kinda like the shaefers test). For instance, he doesn't distinguish between hydrodynamic, elastohydrodynamic, and boundary layer lubrication, nor does he get into film thickness vs asperity and contamination size.

That is a massive amount of info. I am not going to get into whether the guy is right or not. The real problem is, a large amount of the oils tested have changed in formulation in the four years since testing. And you cannot extrapolate.

I use Mobil 1, because a lot of very high end manufacturers use it in motors where the block alone costs more than my truck:

I figure, if it's good enough for a McLaren or an Aston Martin, it's good enough for my F150. And I have several F150s in my family's history that exceeded 200K without a bit of motor trouble and, in all cases, did not consume an appreciable amount of oil between changes.
And, I can get it at Costco (usually) or Walmart (always) for reasonable money.
