Fuel Wheels and offset
hello. I am about take buy a new 2018 f150. I will level it and put BFG 285/65/20. I am kinda fine with the stock wheels but considering going with a black set.
So my question is this...I don’t understand all the offset stuff. I basically want it to look stock with the level and tires. If I got custom wheels I don’t want the wheels sticking out anymore than what stock would look like.
So...is there a Fuel wheel that accomplishes this look? I believe the stock offset is -44. But I can’t seem to find a Fuel wheel with the same.

Stock is +44 not -44. No Fuel wheel is +44. +20 with the most positive offset from a Fuel wheel. Just look for another set of OEM wheels if you want +44. Many OEM F150 wheel styles, so I’m sure you can find something you like better.

Stock wheels are +44. Most aftermarket wheels are 9” wide to start and go up, the oem wheels are 8.5”. Nearly all the aftermarket wheels will stick out more as they are wider and have to have a bigger offset to clear the suspension when tires are on. If you go with a 9” wide wheel with a +18 or +20, that’s pretty mild but they will still stick out 1”-1.25” more than stock. I’m sure there are less aggressive options but not just like stock.
With that big of a tire, assuming a 2.5” level, you don’t want an aggressive setup anyway or they could rub on the crash bars. You might be better off with the oem rims and some spacers to push them out just a little...or maybe find some Raptor take-offs.

Powder coat the stock wheels black if you want to keep the same offset. The Fuels will be +20. You will notice very little difference (1") from the stock rim. Either way the 285/65/20 will fit without any rubbing.

I have thought about the powder coating idea.
I also am not too offended by 1inch wider than stock so that could be an option.

As I have been thinking about this for a few months now.. If you look at it too hard, it will drive you mind numbingly insane!
What I know....
The people on here will HELP you completely understand what offset's have worked for them. they will show you any type of pic you want to see on their trucks to help you as well. Many have been through all of this and their input is more than helpful.
Find a wheel you like (stock works) in an offset you can live with.. lesser number is more aggressive - figure zero offset will be flush (give or take little) with the outer edge of the wheel well. Then, when you add your tire, the tire will be out further still - figure past the wheel by at least 1", but most likely more.
Find the tire you like and see if they have a "slightly small" size (either narrower or slightly shorter (maybe can be wider then) and ask. Most likely someone here will have ran or does run that size already.. on same setup (level (or stock, fully lifted, etc...).
Places like Discount tire will let you order a couple sizes, and do a test fit for you. and if you need, you can put on that one, or the slightly smaller (width, or height) or even slightly larger one that still fits.
The more aggressive you get with offset *meaning moving out" or + tire sizes (both height and width) the possibility of needing to adjust crash bars / trim parts are possibly needed.
On top of all of that.. I have a RCSB 2wd... so it sit's "slightly: different than the 4wd ones.. stock, leveled, etc..
The whole " stock/level/lift.. vs offset/wheel width/tire size" debate for us that have not bee through it before can get one to drink, heavily - not that that is a bad thing, though.

I just bought an xd wheel - 20x9 with a +18 offset. Kept stock tires (275/55/20) on for now and brought tires out to about even with the wheel well.
All the research on offsets / tire sizes will drive a person crazy, I have countless hours into it. But from what I determined, if you want to keep the stock look as much as possible with a tire and not to much poke, get a fuel 20x9 with a +20 offset. It's tough if not impossible to find an aftermarket wheel with a stock offset.
Have you considered a 275/60/20 tire?
