Frozen or Inoperative Door Latch During Freezing Temps ***TSB 16-0155***

Temperature went down to -8°C overnight and both rear door locks (SuperCrew) didn't work using the remote. I was able to reach from the front and pull the lock ***** up on both doors, but the locks were still inoperative when trying to lock the doors with the remote.
Started working again after a few hours of driving due to the heat from inside the cab.
Time to get that TSB taken care of.

My latch wouldn't actuate. Ran thru the carwash last and it started working. I have the tailgate step but haven't been to the carwash in over a week and no rain in a similar length of time.
I opened up the tailgate panel and sprayed some WD40 on the actuator. Unfortuantly that did not help, the actuator is not actuating.

I`m having the issue of my passenger rear door, (extended cab) unlocking, but not opening. The bottom latch won`t release, the top is fine, but the bottom is still latched..... damnit. I thought I`d got away with a good one...

From what I'm reading, it doesn't sound like there are any good ones to get. It's more of a design flaw vs bad parts based on the fact they are adding water shields. I'm just heading into my first winter with my truck and I just know I will encounter this soon. Not too thrilled with the prospect of a tech ripping into all of the doors to fix this ridiculous issue. It's like Ford has never made trucks before. This stuff just shouldn't happen.
I'd like to know if anyone has had problems with their alarm going off in the middle of the night if the latches aren't working right.

Mine froze as well and something terrible happened. I clicked the remote and of course it didn't do anything but as soon as I started to drive half way up to the school I guess the darn thing flipped open. I don't think I lost anything that was expensive but I can't remember exactly what was in there. I think it may have been hung up on the tonneau cover seal or a little ice formed around the edges of the gate. Its not a computer remote issue it remembered that I had engaged it. The vibration of the truck snapped open the gate. Is there a sensor when the tailgate is down? I haven't heard one in my truck.

I've got a '16 with a build date of 6/4, based on this latest TSB not all of it applies to my truck. So far, just one morning my driver's side rear door wouldn't power unlock. As to the alarm - try turning of your interior sensors - maybe a bug flying around inside set it off.

The issue is with the latches not unlatching - not latching

Only have 1k on my '16 crew cab, but it's been in the teens at night, mid twenties during the day. Tons of snow this weekend and I didn't move it all weekend. Some of it even melted when it got up to almost 40 and froze again last night. Knock on wood but zero issue with any doors yet.
unlocked with remote and was able to use all 4 doors this morning. As far as the tailgate goes, for those without the step (like me) has anyone else noticed the hole right by the latch assembly inside the bed? You can see the cable from it. I have no idea why they left that hole open and wonder if a good spray from a snowy bed down in there would be enough to freeze the handle shut?
