$8 IWE check valve is worth buying and trying yourself rather than haggling with the dealership.

I had a growling noise on one side (cant remember) up front since my truck was brand new. Seemed to do it randomly. Sometimes I thought water/rain would cause it, but not always. Finally had the wheel bearing replaced around 40K miles or so and it solved the problem. Been perfectly for the last 120,000 miles since then.

If it was the grease there would be a lot more in the shop.
I got 45k. No noise. I don't have 4wd. Go to a different shop.
Tire wearing fine? If not may be a different problem.
