Air Dam Removal

I actually broke mine last week by parking my truck in a snowbank in front of my last week while clearing the driveway...so I took it off....

I took mine off for 2 main reasons:
1. When parking it was going to get smashed/bent/whatever from the curbs and/or concrete "bumpers" so with it off now the nose of my truck clears them no problem.
2. Oil changes - now I can crawl under the front and access what I need to easier.
I too left the tabs in place, and stored the screws in a baggie and the dam itself on a garage shelf for whenever I sell the truck down the road.

Front Valance (Below Bumper) Removal
Considering a removing it on my 2017 SCAB. The damn thing is personally way too low for me, practically hits the curb.
I'm wondering a few things. I assume the purpose of this is for improved aerodynamics?
Is it possible I will actually notice anything in ride quality/MPG or anything else. I'd like to maintain stock feel/characteristics of the truck.
Does anyone have pictures of this? Preferably on a stock truck.

I thought the air dam was in the grill to restrict air flow on certain models.
Thanks for the clarification on what it is called.

Mainly for fuel consumption purposes... Many of us remove it. You will not go bankrupt if you do that, but it'll cost you more gas pennies for sure.
The F150 has several features to improve MPG and the air dam is one of it. If you remove 1 fuel consumption improvement feature out of 10, it will not hurt that much.

I took mine off a few weeks ago right at the same time temps dropped really low, winter fuel started, snow came and 4x4 was used more and I started remote starting more due to the cold. My MPG tanked so much I put it back on a couple days later.
I plan to try again this spring and see if it makes any noticable difference in MPG. If it's not detectable by me I will leave it off. If it is then I will leave it on as this is my daily driver (80+ miles/day) and I want the best MPG I can get within reason.
