The TRD off road package is comparable to the FX4 package. The Tundra PRO is cool and all but it's not near the same package as the Tacoma PRO. If you have a driver that knows what he's doing, you can take an FX4 99% of the places that Tundra PRO will go.

Coming from a 2010 Tundra Rock Warrior, the only thing I miss is the tighter turning radius and the auto adjustable headlights from w/in the cab (nice for when towing).
I surly don't miss the bone jarring bed bounce on concrete expansion joints, 13 mpg, terrible hvac (coldest blooded truck I've owned), rattles and squeaks in interior and for the fact the bed and rocker panels were rusting out after 5 years. I owned 2 previous Tacomas prior and enjoyed both those trucks much more. My f150 is by far my favorite and I'm not a fan boy to any brand (not anymore).
For whatever reason, Toyota cannot get the rust issues in their trucks under control...

*edited disclaimer*. I REALIZE THAT THE 1492 HAS ALL THE LUXURY FEATURES, BUT THAT WOULD BE COMPARABLE TO OUR KING RANCH. I KNOW THAT TUNDRAS ARE THE KING OF RESALE VALUE AND RELIABILITY. I POSTED THIS BECAUSE THESE THREE THINGS TOOK ME AND MY BUDDY BY SURPRISE
One of my close buddy's got a top of the line Toyota and so he spent about the same as my mid grade XLT FX4. Interestingly, he is realizing that he doesn't have as many features my truck. Okay...
1. No keypad to unlock (he was shocked when he saw me forget where I put my keys after we played 18 holes)
2. No auto lock on tailgate. (I can't believe he has to whip out his key every time)
3. Remote start kills engine when he unlocks his truck. So he doesn't use it. Who would want to start their truck twice? Toyota claims it's a theft preventing feature, LOL. And I'll even use my phone to start my truck...
These features are pretty useful to me. One thing I gotta say is that Tundra owners got us on that nice rear windshield.

1) He's NEVER seen a keypad on a vehicle before? They've been around for like 30 years...
2) Locking tailgates with the doors is fairly new from the past few years. I'm sure Toyota will do the same soon.
3) It may be an extra step, getting in and turning on the truck, but, don't you have to do that anyways if you DON'T remote start? So really, you're doing the same thing, but in a warmed up vehicle. Sounds like a 1st-world problem to me...

Beer Gut Extraordinaire
My 2000 Chevy with 190,000 miles has less squeaks and rattles than my buddy's 2011 Tundra with 50,000 miles. I don't think they're as well built as people say they are.

AMEN!! You're a stand up guy in my book. I didn't think this thread would bring forth all the closet Tundra lovers.

I agree 100% maybe FX4 on a 2014 isn't quite there, but a 2015+ I would assume can do the same as the TRD Pro Tundra due to the lighter weight.

I'm a Toyota fan... but the price for a Tundra loaded is simply crazy. I like the Tacoma... but that thing is small inside. I bought my F150 to tow and be our family hauler. It can do both easily and with the 2.7EB I'm getting 22 mpg. The Tundra wouldn't come close to that, Tacoma might. The rear roll down window in the Tundra is pretty trick though.
I own two other Toyota vehicles BTW.
