I must say it is discouraging to see doors on new trucks being held closed with bungie cords, however, when my '19 was delivered Jan.12 the service manager told me the '19's had the issue resolved......I am hopeful but we shall see.....

I had to do the door recall for a second time. This time it seemed to work fine. Went to Cleveland this weekend and it was pretty dang cold, well colder than NC, and didn't have any issues

2016 F150 SC Platinum. Had the "first" fix done in April 2017, but never had a problem until November of 2018. Second "fix", Customer satisfaction program 18N03 dated November 2018 installed in December 2018. Doors still not latching consistently in cold weather. Have an appointment with the dealership (again) next month. Very frustrating having doors that do not latch, let alone dangerous if you MUST drive the vehicle.

Please make sure you are calling Ford and opening a Customer Care case on this. 1 800 241 3673, option 2. Secondly, please log a record on the NHTSA and report the problem.

Third step is a class action lawsuit. Lemon laws are state specific and most likely not applicable due to time. In Ohio, it has to be reported within the first year. Can't speak for other states, but my research of a few shows a similar trend. Anyone know of a class action lawsuit?

I thought of that, but with only 400 watts to play with, I didn't think it would work.

I've got an '18 F150 Platinum and just dropped it off at the dealership since my rear passenger door would't latch closed and my driver door wouldn't open (lock also wouldn't operate electronically). It was single digits this morning and this is the second time this has happened in a week. I'm a bit skeptical, having now read through this forum, that they will get it permanently corrected. There's never a shortage of freezing days here in Jackson Hole, so we'll see if it works.

Default 3rd time was a charm!!

Took my Ford 2016 F150 in for the third version of this recall, and it seems to have worked. Service manager indicates that he was about 5 for 5 with this new version. It involved applying some kind of lubricant to the locking mechanism. Temp this last week reached down to about 8 F deg, and the door worked well. With 30s and 40s coming, perhaps I am good until next winter when the next trial will arrive. .

I had issues last winter and had a fix done last spring. This winter we had a real good string of frozen days where I experienced the frozen washer fluid issue for the first time, but no more frozen doors! Whatever my dealer did seems to have worked for me.

Had the fix for the door latch freeze done to the drivers door before the recall sometime last year. Weather cleared and no issue because no freezing weather. Fast forward to yesterday. Went deer hunting and came back to a driver door that wont open. When it finally did surprise surprise it wont latch. Warmed the vehicle up and had to get in, roll the windows down and lock the doors with the external keypad. At work tonight and went to McDonalds. Not only is the driver door having this issue but as i attempted to get in the driver side rear and the passenger front doors due to freezing both these doors are now doing the same thing. Ford dealer in the morning, Hope this official recall actually has a fix.
