just as a heads up the fox shocks come out of the box at 2 inches fully extended. Whatever they did was definitely wrong and i would make sure that they take care of you for potentially breaking your shocks

I think the problem was when the OP told the shop that he wanted his truck "Level". The shop probably installed the shocks, saw the truck wasn't level then they tried to accommodate the OP by further increasing the height of the truck. That meant the shop spent more time than they originally quoted.

I could totally see how the shop would feel a little ticked off since they tried to do what they were asked to do, but the communication didn't appear to be as clear as it could have been. I mean, think about it. They spent extra time compressing the springs to lower the shock collar so they could "level" the truck as the OP requested. Now the OP goes back to them and says "do more work to undo what I asked you to do in the first place".

My advice is to be VERY NICE and respectful to the shop so that they don't charge you more money than you already paid.

I explicitly said I wanted to level the truck out and the shocks can be raised 2" over stock. He took that as raise the truck until it's level. I was specific about the 2" specs the manufacturer called for and as a shop they should double check on their own what they allow for but that's neither here nor there as its already done.

I had my oil changed and had 2 techs look at it when it was on the rack and they said I'm going to need a new shock. I called fox and they said to put the preload back to stock and if it doesn't fix the issue they'll send me a new unit I would just pay the shipping. I am going to get a hold of them first thing Monday morning as I wanna get it fixed ASAP.

I also noticed it's been driving very strange which I'm not sure is associated to the shocks. I can feel there's a vibration on the floorboard and brake pedal. It feels like I'm driving with the brake on and i noticed my MPGs have dropped a bit. I set my cruise on level ground and I was only getting 15-16 mpg when I should be at at least 19-20 even with my tires.

I also noticed there's a flutter when driving and I'm thinking a tire is out of balance or something. It's like a low fluttering noise that is in tune to the revolution of the tires.

What a mess this has become I just want this to be fixed and back to how it use to drive

Just an update. Took my truck back in the other day to get looked at. I guess the shocks weren't seated correctly and he fixed and adjusted that. I also told him to put them back down to the manufacturers specs of 2" of lift. Rides like a dream now finally. Man that was an ordeal though to go through

Well at least it was an easy and quick fix. Now you can enjoy the truck!

I call total BS

OP - I am happy they figured this out and corrected it for you. Nothing worse then throwing cash at a mod and having it bite your butt.

Shocks are great now that they are fixed. A rougher ride only because of my tires but overall the shocks are stiffer I'd say and allow you to take corners way faster without body roll and they feel more planted when going over bumps. On road handling is nice but I feel the most confident with them vs. stock offroad. I just want to drive fast offroad now as they seem to do better with speed and higher compression
