Did you have to take the tire off? Or did you just pop the bolts out and switch the shocks out?

I didn't remove the wheels. Lay down on the creeper and get to them from underneath. I used a floor jack to raise the truck some to reduce the amount that I had to compress the new shocks to get the bottom bolts in.

Negative, just the creeper. Used my small jack to help compress the shock and get it into position easier though.

Do I need a jack or can I just take out the bolts on level ground? F*** I am pissed.
I'm pretty sure the installation instructions that came with them said body up. If you don't have the instructions, I'd ask someone for a copy and have the shop mount them pre the installation instructions. IMHO

They made a MASSIVE difference! Had I known just how awesome these 2.0s were just on the rear, I would have paid the extra money and did the fronts too when I put the level on. Its amazing how crappy those rear shocks are and honestly how dangerous my truck was when it would hit a bump in the road with the stock shocks. These 2.0s completely cured it!! It still amazes me that during testing on these trucks that the guy who was logging all these miles never reported back that there was an issue with it. Oh well, Fox fixed it for Ford.

These were my thoughts exactly. Who made the decision that pucker hop was an acceptable suspension/handling characteristic?

They probably had a better shock but the peanut counters changed them out.

Had to be Miss Daisy, as even my wife said "What was that... something is broken" after a countersteer catch through a curve with a bump.

I would install them this way, for the reasons you had mentioned to avoid dusk/water/dirt/mud/snow sitting on top of that dust cover portion of the shock and possibly getting into the reservoir or wearing out the seal. If you paid someone $100 to install them, they are making out like champs with how easy the install is! So they can afford to flip them over the right way for you. By the way, thanks for the 20% off on the Fox shocks Stage 3!!! Will do business with you guys again!

I'm very happy to read this. I have had my truck for 2 weeks....coming from 2013 FX4 5.0 to this XLT Sport with 2.7. I love the 2.7 but the handling is terrible. We have really bad roads here in Southeastern Michigan and when you are going 75MPH and you hit small bumps while in a slight turn, its scary when the rear end hops.

How do I get he 20% so I can order these shocks ASAP....

Thanks
Gary

Hahaha Pucker hop. That is exactly what its called. On a 8 hour road trip, I was worn out from all the random puckering. That guy must have just been pucker immune by the time the truck rolled 100,000 miles worth of road testing.
