Anyone else have this issue. I have "forgotten" sync on my phone and deleted the phone from the truck, verified the setting in Forscan and reconnected via BT. The phone (iPhone X) only finds the truck as SYNC.

Anything else to try?
my as built setting was identical. I changed to 0E. Turned the truck off and then on. Then reconnected my iPhone X. Bluetooth now shows it as F-150.

I also made this change a while back (7D0-04-01 xxxx xxxx 0Exx) and even removed & repaired my phone but it still shows SYNC, not F150.

Mine (2017) shows as "Ford F150" in my phone. I seem to remember making that change in the settings menu in the center cluster somewhere.

Definitely did NOT change that with FORScan.

Re-attack. On an Android phone, you can click the settings gear on each Bluetooth connection and rename the connection. That's how I changed mine. Can't speak for iOS.

Too follow along, both of my Android phones show Ford F150 when I bring up connected devices. No FORscan, no changes, all on it's own.

FWIW my "as built" line is; 7D0-04-01 0100 1403 0E02
Maybe try the whole line?

What SYNC system do you have? If it's 3, are you updated to v3.0?

My Sync 3 shows up as Ford F150 on Android. The loaner shows up as Ford Edge and the previous as Ford Flex. I did just switch from an iPhone 6S to OnePlus 6T, but I do remember it being the same on iOS.

I do know that my old Explorer's MFT and old truck's 4.2" Sync always showed up as SYNC.

On my 16 with the latest Sync 3 update, it still said "Sync." I made the change in Forscan, deleted Sync from Bluetooth devices on my iPhone and deleted my iPhone from Sync. Then paired my iPhone to Sync to get it to read "F-150." I think that you need to delete the connection on both the phone and Sync before going thru the pairing process.

My guess is that the newer vehicles have this set from the factory.

I wouldn't use the entire line as there may be differences in that line that impact other features. The for scan spreadsheet will confirm what those changes would impact.
