Hi Guys, wondering if you can help me with a problem. I made a number of changes last night with forscan and now when I turn my truck off and lock it with the button the doorhandle my headlights turn on and stay on indefinitely. If I turn the headlight switch to off they turn off. If I have them on "auto" they turn off when I turn the engine off, and then when I get out of the truck and lock the door they turn on and never turn off.

I made this change, and I am assuming it is the culprit, but I can post all the changes I made last night if you want. Has anyone seen this behavior before, and can you offer any advice?

Thanks!
Disabling Canadian forced DRLs to cluster controlled

726-26-02 0100-xxxx-xxxx

doing that, now my DRL’s are my parking lights and signals and they work just like my original DRL’s did (activate once the truck is in gear) except one thing I don’t like is along with the parking lights as my DRL the taillight parking lights go ok too.
I'm guessing 'ok' is a typo and you meant to say 'on'. If you have factory halogens and non-tow mirrors and rear park lamps bother you there's no valid reason you should have 726-26-02 0100-xxxx-xxxx enabled.

You drive an XL or XLT right? (guessing based off earlier posts talking about your 2 line dot matrix cluster). Try this instead, I think it's what you want unless if you have aftermarket lights or are intentionally trying to only set half the parameters. I included descriptions for future readers.

BCM:

726-16-02 0101 0101 014A
Disables forced DRLs by setting DRLs to be controlled by the auto lamp position on the headlamp switch.

726-21-01 xxxx xxxx x1xx
Enables DRL when switch in auto-lamps position.

726-26-02 x0xx xxxx xxxx
Disables park lamps with DRLs.

Park lamps on factory halogen F150's include:
- front and rear park lamps
- tow mirror amber markers
- front halogen markers / tiny ambers located inside the top of halogen assembly closest to the grille nobody ever notices.

726-45-01 xxxx 7F01 xxxx
EU data packet header. Enables DRL choices in North American and other markets by manipulating the BCM into thinking it is following European Department of Transportation regulations. Is it illegal? Depends where you live, personally I don't care.

726-50-01 0880
Front amber turns signals as DRL

+

IPC:
720-02-01 xxCx xxxx xxxx
Enables lighting menu in dash for trucks without lane keep assist.

Well, that's confusing but I know what you're getting at. I will say for those people who read this post in the future and need clarification that Forced-DRL-on is in the BCM. The lighting menu is what you add to your cluster. Photo below. 4" displays and the two line dot matrix displays get the same menu option once enabled in the IPC.

That's how they're supposed to work. The lights will shut off after a few minutes of being unattended.

If you really are waiting 5 minutes and your lights are still on then Reset the BCM in the module reset tab of ForScan. It will force all relays on and off and you might just have one which is stuck.

If you absolutely hate it and want it disabled or modified there are these options:

1. Activate the dome light lockout toggle switch on your overhead console and leave it enabled.

2. Enable dark mode in ForScan. Dark mode in ForScan still allows colour ambient lighting to function normally.

3. Toggle headlamp switch off.

4. Experiment with:
726-57-01 xxxx xxxx x*xx
All of 726-62-01 726-62-02 with regards to lamp cfgs and durations.

Thank you for your help. They were for sure staying on "forever". I went into a resturaunt for lunch today and came out and they were still on. I must have buggered something up when I made my changes.

I restored the previous save and redid all of the previous changes excluding the DRL one and everything is working good now. I don't really need that feature anyways, I just thought it would cool to be able to turn my lights all the way off if I wanted.

Appreciate your response in any case!

gotcha, I added the “disable Canadian forced DRL’s on cluster” today and it works perfect
Thanks very much for that post explaining it

The zoom button is there, but when I press it nothing happens. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks!

Hello. I've been reading through the forums and searching, but I'm not quite getting if I can manipulate the windshield wash feature the way that I'm hoping. On my 2018 Lariat, is there a way to extend the amount of time the stalk button has to be pressed before the washer fluid starts to run? Half the time I just want a quick flip of the wiper without any washer fluid, and the timing is so tight I hold it too long and then it runs through the wash sequence. Can I extend that button press to maybe 3/4 of a second before the washing fluid comes out so I have a better chance to avoid it? I can see how to make it run the fluid for X time before the wiper runs, but not for how long to press the button before it initially starts. Hope that makes sense, I'm probably overlooking something obvious, thanks for the help!

No, I don't see anything to achieve that.
