FORScan - software to enable/disable features in your truck
used ForScan to disable auto stop /start. it worked perfectly, however, when stopped in traffic the symbol A ( which used to be in green with no line when active) with a line thru it pops up on the dash and goes away when moving again. Is there away to eliminate this or just live with it?
Auto Start/Stop Disable
BCM 726-48-02 x0xx xxxx xxxx turns off A.S.S.
FCIM 7A7-01-01 xxxx x0xx xxxx disables A.S.S. switch
IPC 720-01-01 xxxx 1xxx xxxx stops A.S.S. icon from displaying on dash

Pay for Use FORscan Alternatives?
There are other options just not free. Or you could pay the dealer to load as built configurations. Since its free right now they really can't "go out of business" but the developers could call it quits I suppose. Thats not likely to happen because they do see the business potential for it and will be able to make money with it once its out of bata. I guess its also possible thy could get sewed and decide its not worth it to continue even if they could win. Bottom line is no you would not be stuck, there are other options.
Thanks. What are some of the “pay for use” options other than FORscan?

Can this enable GPS navigation in my STX? I have the 8 inch screen and was wondering if it was just a software enable rather than anything else. I am aware that I can just use Android auto with Google maps, but the stock one that comes on the higher trims would be nice. Thank you.
It's my first day

You can buy a VCM II and lease out time to use IDS from websites that partner with Ford. I think it is around a $80 a day, It isnt something most people consider and I havent looked into it too hard.
Hacked IDS on VMWare:
- There are hacked versions you can run from home and find on torrent sites but you still have to spend a lot on a specific firmware VCM II clone. Think of it this way, the licence of the software pairs to a specific licence in the VCM II, so you have to buy everything exactly for your model year and never update the software or firmware. Even for this illegal setup, you will have to buy a specific VCM II clone which is a huge bargain at $1000, but not at all worth it for a vast majority of people. I certainly do not recommend it. I associate it with car thieves and sketchy dealerships and stay away, but it is something you will inevitably encounter when looking for similar programs to ForScan so at least I can warn people of it and tell them to stay far far away from that cest pool of malware.
UCDSYS
- google it but have google translate extension setup in your browser first. They want to sell their product to more people but I feel it is best to leave that one alone too unless if you absolutely understand what you are buying and understand there are no F150 profiles for it.
FoCCCus
- not practical for F150s but it is good to know about. Google that one too.
ForScan
- The best option regardless of potential future costs. It has the largest user base, the most support groups, and is undoubtedly the most functional. IDS can do some things better but unless if you have money to burn you are already in the best place.

The UCDS adapter is also great for flashing but buying one is confusing and will take 3+ weeks to arrive. I own two of these and it's my go-to adapter.
Excerpt from a recent email with FORScan dev:
"For example one of our testers recently tested IPC firmware upgrade on Fusion (tried to install IPC from Mondeo and program it). This operation with ELS27 (fastest ELM327-compatible adapter we know) did take 1 hour 20 minutes. Same procedure on UCDS required about 20 minutes."

Switching to LED lamps - Cancelling hyperflash
I have a 300a package without any LED lamps on the exterior.
i have seen mixed formulas for stopping hyperflash on the cluster when switching lamps.
i plan on changing the rear tail/stop and the amber colored parking/signal bulbs.
which codes should I modify?
Thank You Livinitup for the time spent on all this.
