You have no idea how many times I've felt that way so you're not alone Lol. I've had so many truck experiments (programming & otherwise) fail that sometimes the thought of going out for more of the same is too much.

Someone with custom rear lights asked me about deleting trailer tow miles. I know this was talked about a while ago but I don't recall if anything was ever found on it. Does anyone remember around which page number that was on? I know it was this year.

If there is no resolution, or if it can only be done with a tuner, that advice will save me some time. I never tow and have no clue on this one.

I thought the rear lights had to be wired in series or something stupid like that. I don't remember exactly what the answer was or which forum found the solution.

Livin while we're on that topic.......

I had a '11 XLT with console shift and the cluster had a section for the gear display (like my current 502A).

I had some reason to take it to the dealer for some software update (TSB) (this is about 3 years ago) and when I got it back the gear display stayed on permanently (which I like). Before that, I'd accidentally hit that +/- button and my gear display would disappear, and I'd have to click it to get it back.

So like on the '11, the gear indication on my '15 will cycle on and off when I hit that button on the shifter by accident, and what I'm asking is do we know what bit we need to set to keep that display locked in so that hitting the +/- button doesn't turn the display completely off?

I have no idea what possessed them to create a 'feature' that completely shuts off a display item in a dedicated area of the cluster. It's not like anything else useful can be displayed in that little vertical space!

So if you know what it would take to lock that gear display in I'd appreciate knowing about it.

News to me. I'm in the 14 XL and it works the same as every other F150 I've been in. I've never seen an IPC with that backlight stuck on. I played around with the 2017 IPC a lot this weekend and would say this is likely impossible, although not confirmed. If you look at Livnitup's spread sheet there are a lot of unknowns and it's up to each of us to fill in the blanks and figure out what some of those generic profile details actually mean.

For example, there are many cases where E = this and B = that, but what about 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,C,D,F?

I wish more folks here would mess around. It's how I found the last 3 things. Triple flash, TPMS, and Specified TPMS.

Just stay away from 726-22-02 and we can grow our knowledge base on these things faster.

Try it, I've seen pics from a 2017 Super Duty 4" display where it worked and I think others here have said it does.

This ^^^. I have been thinking the same thing, and PMed Linvitup about this a few weeks ago. He explained why he is not able to map it out like some of the other modules. I agree with AA. There have been lots of questions lately about things, that are likely hidden gems in the IPC. I realize that there is also the issue with different MY's having different firmware versions which can also contribute to many questions. Those that have the time, and/or capable we need to concentrate on getting some of these nailed down.
