FORScan & Powering DashCam w/ Key Off
I run a dashcam in the Motion Detection Parking Mode (Key Off). I am moving it from my old '04 350 to my new '19 150. In my 350 I used a Power Management device that passed power to the cam and simultaneously monitored the vehicle battery. When the battery voltage dropped to whatever value I set it to, it would power off the cam. I had it set to 12 volts. I had intended to install this device into my 150 but, from replies to another thread I started, it sounds like the 150 might have the intelligence to shut down the cam on its own, before the battery gets too drained. If so, cam install will be much easier without having to (double) tap the fuse box, and less cluttered without having to locate the Power Management device somewhere. I would simply power the cam from a Power Point.........and use FORScan to disable Power Point Key Off Time Out.
Does this sound like it would work?
Thanks much.
