I know it is difficult to believe a $10/hour support person wouldn't know about a fringe feature that was engineered to keep .01% of truck buyers that go on 3 week naval excursions from depleting their batteries. This feature is now several months old, and on the most active F150 forum in existence you were the first to encounter it. But yeah, these support people should know every nuance for every model that now comes with Sync Connect (read: all 2017 models).

They should have the resources to get the answer in Customer Support or the App Support.

It would be a non-issue if Ford put it in the Owners Manual.

It would be a nonissue if the message I got would have Said " Vehicle in Deep Sleep Mode, will start as normal" Instead of bold red letters, "Vehicle in Deep Sleep" with no other information.

They have a whole page in the manual about storage and nothing about this.

I just hope others see this, and now they no its not an issue. Now Google should be able to help.

Why would ford make an app or a function that would lock a person out/ disable their vehicle on them after a few weeks? That doesn't make sense.

Yes it would have been nice for the first person you called to say "oh don't worry the modem just went into deep sleep, so that after you return to your vehicle after an extended time it won't die on you." But that didn't happen. You got worked up and stated your upset at Ford and something about GM... on a Ford F-150 forum instead of recognizing the cool feature that you have on your truck.

I'd imagine that Ford service has a lot of vehicles and features to remember... I'm guessing that this is such a new feature that not everyone got the "memo".

Anyhow thanks for the entertaining and informative thread.

Edit: out of curiosity I tried googling and this came up almost imidiately... just behind a couple forum post about this same issue... (this forum being one of them ) I think this was posted by someone on the first page.

From
"I attempted to use my system after my vehicle was parked for more than 3 days and it responded that my vehicle was in Power Save Mode and I needed to schedule a wake-up time, what is the reason for this?

Your system is designed to protect your vehicle from draining its battery when the vehicle is parked for an extended period of time. In order to preserve your vehicle’s battery the Remote Access system will go into a "sleep" mode. Your Remote Access system can be "woken" from this mode in two ways. One is to turn the ignition on in the vehicle using your factory key or you can schedule a "wake-up" time through your Remote Access mobile phone app or web portal. Please note that it may take up to twelve hours for the "wake-up" process to complete. Please see the on-line User's Guide for more information on Power Save Mode."

from the Ford remote access FAQ sheet.

i do see why your were upset numerous inquires with Ford they should have been able to at least google that for you and reassure you that your truck would operate as expected... put it on f-150 forum and your going to get every armchair quarterback giving you the gears (including me...)

I had the warning show up this morning in FordPass. It actually told me that everything will work fine, just get in and start the truck to reset the Deep Sleep. The warning was very self-explanatory.

I see you reading comprehension is not so good. Remote Access is a different app. This was already posted. Ford pass you can not schedule a wake up. Some one did past the Ford Access manual link, and a page. I thanked them, read it all found out not the same. There is no manual yet for Ford Pass

And yes, four Ford pass customer service people and two Ford Customer service people and the only help is have it towed.

Mine sure was not. All my warning said was " Vehicle Entered Deep Sleep Mode" And it was in Red Text. Nothing else.

I will know soon enough. Go back off shore in 20 days. So in about 34 days from now my truck should go into deep sleep again.

That would have been a much better message to get. There would not have been numerous call for help to Fordpass or customer service and no post.

I'll be curious to see if I get that message next time.

Definitely make sure you check the "Messages" tab at the bottom of he FordPass screen. I had the warning in red letters, but I also had a new message with the description above.
