They must be using Everyday (Chicago) math taught in schools these days. 3.5 out of 5 does not equate to above average reliability in my viewpoint.

I understand where you're coming from, but you can't dispute above average. You can say the average sucks, but it is what it is. If the average reliability for vehicles tracked by JD Power is less than 3.5, then 3.5 is above average. That's all the article is saying.

Maybe math taught in Chicago schools, is all Chicago has going for it. And the Cubs.

There are multiple slides. Chevy won the compact and the survey notes that Ford doesn't have the Ranger here yet. The 3rd slide was a win for Ford (F-150), 4th slide was a win for Ford (Raptor), etc.

Thank you Vulnox. I had read the thread while comfortably ensconced in a sleeping bag during a rainy morning while inside my tent... the cellular connection was poor and the linked page slow to load. One wonders why I looked at my phone at all if I were really *camping* (we were on relatives' private property in Monterey County, CA).

Another win was driving home, and achieving a 24 mpg average over a 100-mile stretch. +/- 70 MPH and +/- 1700 RPM. These are terrific! trucks. Smooth, quiet, powerful and efficient.

On a side note my 2013 4x4 Sierra had a smoother transmission and smoother ride quality than my 17 xlt 5.0. But everything else on the ford is much better

No disrespect intended, but some of us do not want a "smooth" automatic transmission. A smooth-shifting coaxial automatic means that clutch packs/drum bands are slipping more than they need to during a particular shift... increasing wear on these parts then heating and leaving more debris in the trans fluid...

Whereas a tight/firm-shifting traditional coaxial* auto will last longer. It is what a "shift kit" did for your automatic back in the day of carbureted V8s and the 3-speed Torqflites, TurboHydros and Select-Shift C4/C6 transmissions of old...

*planetary gearsets, as opposed to an automated manual transmission
