I don't know if Ford is any better or worse than the others, either way the difference would be marginal. My point is that they all have glaring engineering and build quality issues. A lot of areas for improvement that you don't see in most other market segments, like midsize sedans. Truck buyers just aren't as picky I guess. It makes the Tundra a lot more appealing than it should be.

And yeah, rust was still an issue with Ram and GM into this decade here in the rust belt. Only time will tell if they have finally resolved that like everybody else did back in the '90s.
So go buy a Tundra. And good luck with that.

Oh and I see dash warp is a huge issue to you (I had none in either my 2016 or my current 2019), but the dash in my 2001 Ram literally disintegrated. Nothing impacted it, just started cracking, and then piece of is started to crumble into the space below the dash. So yeah, the quality of Rams have traditionally been horrible compared to the F150. Again, F150 isn't perfect, and their are sporadic issues, but they don't get the repeat buyers they get because it is crap product.

Well, since it hasn't changed much in the past hundred years, they should have it all worked out by now! LOL

Build quality that **** poor on a new vehicle is something I personally haven't seen since the '80s. Obviously it was not a deal breaker. It's still inexcusable. Not so much that it happened, but rather that Ford can't or won't fix the problems 5 years in. The fact is that most everybody expects better today.

I suspected this earlier. Ram sales evidently aren't as rosy as the media is making out. 1/3 of their sales are the old "Classic" version. They did a similar thing with the cheap Grand Caravan and premium Pacifica to prop up their minivan sales.

The new Ram is still a nice truck. But will this strategy work long term? Pacifica never sold like the T&C and sales are down quite a bit this year, despite being the best in class.
