Cars are dragging them down. "Total U.S. sales fell 1.6%. Truck sales rose 4.1%. SUV sales rose 5%. Car sales fell 23.7%"

Have a cousin that used to work for Honda engineering. His comment on Ford as a company is "they make trucks for $$ and cars for practice".

I'm bias because I work for them. I think with the aluminum body and the turbo engine line up we offer something different to the consumer. Plus the One Fiddy is a good looking truck.

So if these trucks are so bad like you say they're how come they still outsell the Ram and GM trucks!!For sure if they suck like you say they do the F-150 should be last place in Sales!!

Doesn't surprise me at all. The economy is humming after many stagnant years so there is pent up demand for vehicles not to mention just a better feeling overall. And with the newer gens of F-150s there is no need for a sedan anymore.

Chevy is sure full of excuses. They talk about how their sales are hurt by a lack of incentives and why that's a good thing. But Ford has the least incentives and highest transaction prices.

Between their commercials, public statements, and numerous shortcomings of the new Silverado, it really does seem like GM is out of touch with reality again. It's amazing how much hubris they have considering their history. They never learn.

I'm not a GM fan by any means, I've owned a few over the years, but I'm still really blown away by the lack of competitiveness of these new GM trucks, especially given what Ford already has, and what the new RAM was bringing to the table. A real head-scratchier for sure... I think they missed a real opportunity to take the truck market from Ford, given the F150 is now a 5 year old development. It's almost like they didn't care. Very strange.

The market is where I would expect it to be. Chev has been behind the ball for years now. The motors they offer are subpar on power output and the interiors are very cheaply designed and made. The lack of technology for the driver interface until very recently has been horrible too. Ram was always 3rd among the big 3 however they will certainly continue to gain market share with their current trends. They make a great truck and are priced exteremely well along with the fact that the incentives they offer no other manufacturer can touch. Heck I bought my Ram last year new for 17k off the sticker price. You will never see that from the other 2.

That's what I got off my XLT including the $3K "conquest cash". That's why I'm surprised Ford has the lowest incentives and highest transaction prices. That was not the case in November.

Ram is still selling the old style as the "Classic", and pricing starts at 25% off sticker. I'm guessing that's where a good chunk of their sales are, my local lot had way more of those than the new style.
