I really dont want ford to get rid of that design....

Based in the mirror placement, I would say the dip in window is there....just covered up.
Otherwise half the side view mirror would be hidden from driver view.

I doubt this is the next generation model. It's more than likely the refreshed 2020. Wouldn't that make more sense?
