I wouldn't waste the time or money on the blinky red light. It's been years since those were an actual deterrent.

I'd like to see a pic of where it ends up, if you don't mind.

Perhaps time to resurrect them

If nothing else it would tell the thief that a smash and grab would set of a loud alarm, and therefore prevent the damage.
The light will also tell the status of the system with a pattern of various blinks, well worth it to me.

Sure thing, will post a pic once the system is complete.

A bit disappointed that these gizmos was not included in a $51,500 truck.
My first F-150 and not a Fan Boy. (Yet)
Will look Long and hard at the competition next time I buy a truck...

the F150 is really a 30k truck then with features added to up sell more than double its cost if you really sit down and think about it.. i mentioned this in another thread where people wondered why all the trucks didn't have LED headlights or other features .. thing is Ford has 7 models ranging from 30k to 70k+ if you don't have anything to up sell within 7 models you can't sell a 30k truck for 70k. I for one am happy Ford does this most manufacturers don't build a base car and add stuff and if you're savy enough or lucky enough to have guys finding forscan codes you can't make your truck how you want ad hoc. This is why i bought an STX. I did not want to pay for stuff i didn't want and end up removing it and having it sit in storage. I can add piece by piece what i want after. Perfect example is BGG's XLT that truck has more features and modifications than a Limited or Platinum

i swapped my faint red light for a stronger blue light. In my apt building i have 2 videos from my dashcam showing 2 different people on 2 different occasions walking around at 2 am trying people's doors.. that flashing light is going make them skip your truck because they don't want the alarm to go off

I'm surprised no one else found the pocket located above and to the left of the OBD port that seems like it was made for this module. I slipped mine up in there and the predrilled hole lined up so I attached the module with a tie-wrap and tidied up the T-harness wires. A simple change to one line of code in FORscan and I'm sitting in my kitchen starting the truck on these cold mornings. Bumping the mirror after locking proved the alarm feature.

H said yes, even if I had the remote start.
Dealer price was $235 plus $100 for installation, $358 total with tax.
Coming home I read the manual, page 5 mentioned the optional LED light.
Should have done it at the same time, but didn’t know it was a Ford option. (thought postings above on the LED was a homemade option, my bad)
Will go back tomorrow and have it put in for another $49. The accessory specialist should have asked me if I wanted the light or not today..As in: ,Would you like fries with that?
Oh well, it is only time and money.
Should be a good system when complete.

(Asked them if they used a bracket for the shock sensor? Nope, it hangs in the wires as that makes it more sensitive he said and explained that the hanging/dangling action would multiply any shock to the body)
Okaaay, well if that is the way Ford designed it, then that is the way it will be, but will still seek a second opinion, or rather a verification.

Also asked where the LEd light would be installed? He said on one of the pillars, rather than on top of the dash.
I sure would like to read the Ford guidance or instructions on the installation of the shock sensor and the LED light, just to make sure the dealer is not making up their own installation procedures.
I believe forscan is only needed if you don't already have factory remote start. Also I found the red light on ebay for $9.99 shipped. It just plugs into the unit. Pick a location on the dash, drill a hole and done.

just to be clear my LED isn't home made .. i bought the factory LED light and installed it. It wasn't bright enough so i bought an LED light from amazon .. then cut the factory LED light harness off then soldered the harness to the new light

The Dealer said I still needed forscan to program the Perimeter Plus. Perhaps he needed to drum up business, or he is ignorant. Either way, I let the dealer do the install, if anything goes wrong, i know where to find them and they can fix it.
