the install itself will take less than 5 mins.. ensure when you plug in each harness you hear the audible click of the connectors .. i would ensure its working first before you mount it.

It doesn't come with an LED light you can add that later.. i bought the Ford security light but it was dim.. then i bought another one from amazon and cut the factory wire and soldered the connections .. now its nice and bright

Good idea with the security LED. Did you have to drill a hole, or is it a punch-out right there?
(hate to drill in a new truck, even for a good purpose)
Does the package come with instructions for adding the light?

That's one of the features i forgot to mention.. aside from the security light indicating the alarm went off .. when you unlock the door the horn will beep as well.. very distinct
Also have a dash cam, it should keep people away and the Perimeter Plus should convince them to go somewhere else.
Hopefully..

i drilled the hole.. i was like **** this.. it's nice and clean and i don't anticipate taking out the whole system.. and if i did i would leave the light anyway.. the light you have to buy separately and it connects into the module .. its only one jack for it.. nothing else will fit there

Will search YouTube, surely there is a video of somebody doing a Perimeter Plus installation.
Or I just drop the truck of at the dealer and let him do it...Decisions, Decisions..
No, you don't need forscan.

Yeah, the 502a already has the interior sensors. Thus when you install the shock sensor, you don't need to use forscan. The module automatically activates.

Is forscan needed for a 302a XLT with a perimeter alarm and factory remote start installed?

I have a 2017 Ford F150 XLT with remote start and the basic perimeter alarm. Was wondering if I could get some all around advice on parts for upgrading to the Perimeter Plus. Here is what I am tracking for the 2017.

Vehicle Security System, Ford Perimeter Plus (FT4Z-19A361-A) 2014-2017, $164.00

Vehicle Security System, Optional LED Kit, (DM5Z-19D596-A), $15.00

BajaMod Alarm Shock Sensor Bracket, $39.99

Since there are several on here that have completed this upgrade, does this list look complete or does anyone have any better options or additions. Also, I can't find an installation video or specific step by step directions for this upgrade. Advice?
