Ford Perimeter Plus...?

I have a Lariat 2016 I think I have the perimeter alarm but not sure about the shock sensor or how to adjust it? I also have the remote start can anyone help on how to adjust the shock sensor? I do remember asking my salesmen if someone breaks the window of my truck will the alarm go off & I remember him saying no! He said once they reach into the truck the sensors will activate the alarm.. I Guess maybe that means I dont have the shock sensor? BTW is is possible to add the remote start through my android phone to a 2016 model?

2016's did not have a built in modem so you will need the FordPass SmartLink module to unlock/lock/remote start from your phone:

Thanks for the response dhm! The alarms on these trucks are a bit confusing. There are times where I was in the bed when the alarm was armed & the lights would come on warning me bc I was moving the truck from the bed, what would this be considered (thought this was the shock sensor)? Do you know where I can purchase the shock sensor and the FordPass Smartlink module it doesnt mention how much it costs or the annual cost? I know several people who had this feature told me they only paid 50 dollars a year for it..Are there several different modules out to buy still? I notice it offers 4G wifi something I don't need or want and something which prob makes the annual cost really high can you not have this feature installed? Thanks for the help!

In regard to the smart link module I found two. My understanding of the difference in cost is;
https://www.oemfordpartsdirect.com/o...IaAs7qEALw_wcB
The more expensive unit has an already pre-paid data plan built in and plugs into the obd port as an external module. "FordPass SmartLink customers pay $16.99 a month, plus installation, for 24 months to purchase the device and receive telematics services that enable remote key fob, location and vehicle health features. Also included is a complimentary trial of a Verizon 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot with 1 gigabyte or 30 days of data - whichever comes first."
https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts...nk-hb5z14f642a
The cheaper module is just the connectivity device but it actually mounts in-line with the obd port and can be permanently mounted under your dash. This unit would require a stand alone data plan which you would have to purchase separately. This is my assumption, not a lot of additional info out there. I would say talk to your dealer.

Honestly I would not need any data anyways as I can just use my phone for that...Sucks you cant choose to not get the data plan if you don't want it. The only problem I see with the one from Tascaparts is it seems to be unavailable and currently Ford has not made a new batch to sell as I was told by the owners from Tasca Also I was told the module from tasca parts is only 50 PER YR huge difference in price to basically do the same thing...So that seems to leave us with only the 16.99 a month which is pretty pricey to just be able to start your car from a phone...Hopefully the member Bannerauto can give us some more insight into whats going on with more options...or another member here..

I have a 2018 XLT with perimeter alarm from factory default (I guess it comes with the 302 package)
I just installed the Perimeter plus shock sensor and it doesn't see to work.
1. Which direction do you turn for the most sensitive? clock wise or counter clock wise? (maybe they shipped me a dead unit?)
2. Also, my basic perimeter alarm doesn't trigger about 15-20 second after I open the door, is that normal?
3. How can I shorten the alarm trigger time so it goes off immediately when I open the door?

I just received my Perimeter Plus module today from Tasca.
As I mentioned I have a 2018 Platinum which has the "advanced" security system but no dual stage shock sensor.
I wanted this feature so if someone hit me while parked or door dinged I would get an instant notification via Ford Pass app.
This way I could investigate in real-time assuming I am somewhat close to the truck
Thought I would share where I ended up mounting the module.
I found some structural metal to the left of the break pedal which would allow it to be more sensitive to body/glass shock.( Its set to about 80% on the dial)
Ford states to just zip tie the module to the wire harness under the dash but I can't help but think this wouldn't be ideal for transferring shock.
I used 3M double side tape and it sits mostly flush against the metal.
After it was all mounted I simply cycled the ignition on/off and it recognized the module and was ready to go.
I tested by tapping lightly in several places on the outside of the truck.
Each time it generated a single honk to warn that is was detecting shock. I guess this is the first stage of the 2 stage sensor.
Then I repeatedly hit on the body and set off the alarm with horn and lights flashing.
This triggered an immediate notification on my smart phone to let me know there was a threat at my truck.
Anyway, here is the module location which appears to be a good spot to detect shock.

Doesn't matter!
That's how mine was until I mounted it to a solid surface like the bracket I made.
