Ford F-150 Windshield leaks (bad) after replacement with OEM Ford Glass
2016 Ford F-150 Lariat no even 2 years old, got my first rock crack in the windshield (which never leaked, even after the crack). It was replaces 3 times with OEM Ford Glass by Safe-lite, or so they say, it still leaks like sieve on the passenger side, even after the 3rd replacement, at the headliner above the window and at the top of the post where it meets the window pouring water down the passenger side grab bar. My local Ford Dealer say it is not covered by warranty whether Ford replaces the glass or not. Bought extended warranty. I am very upset with my local dealer service department. Id this a defect in the design of the FORD windshield? Would like any help possible on this. This is my third F-150 and my 10th Ford, never seen anything like this with a Ford or any other car or truck I have evener owned (about 25 total). The Dealer says maybe there is a clogged drain in the headliner, never hard of this before, are there drains in the roof above the window? If so, would they force water through the top of the window?

Call safelite it is there problem not Ford's or your trucks. Sounds like a bad piece of glass or install.

I am tempted to have Safe-Lite come out and look at or fix it the 4th time, could they possibly be using bad glass, bad material, or sloppy install, three times in 90 days?

I would have that conversation with the manager. Hopefully he/she will decide to send their best installer.

sounds like your beef is with safelite, not ford. since your truck didnt start leaking until after they replaced your glass.

I had a Nissan Murano that a tree fell on ruining the top but not breaking the glass top. The top of the car was replaced. The body shop told me the sun foot was bent and I thought BS. They were right the sun roof was bent. Could this be the problem? It wouldn’t take much to keep it from sealing.

This is not Ford's fault, the problem is with Safelite.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that since safelite replaced your windshield, they most likely used their own house brand of glass. I would start there. It is very much the glass shop's problem, not Ford's.

Safelite has installed 4 widshields on my truck due to the crappy sound glass cracking with OEM ford glass. They have also relaced the glass on my mustang.
Never had an issue with them.

it sounds like an installation issue more than a glass issue. the glass itself shouldnt matter (unless the window is just simply way off ). the sealant they use between the glass and the body is what keeps the water out.
