A. Clearly you have never seen a duno graph of a 2.7 and compared it to the 5.0.... the 2.7 wins the TQ battle with zero effort.
B. You have obviously never seen the internals of a 2.7.... they shame the 5.0.
C. While no gas motor available in the F150 will "work" like a Cummins.... you have zero proof that the 2.7 is in any way deficient.

For all your sakes -and FOMOCO's sake - I hope I'm wrong. I'm hoping we DON'T see roasted 2.7's hooked up to campers along the highway next year.
It's like the pound for pound arguments they used to make in boxing - should keep us in discussion material for a long time!

It's how an engine is built that matters, not how big. The "tiny" Offy engine dominated Indy for centuries. In its last years the configuration was 158 ci 4 cylinder, producing 1000 hp at 10,000 rpm. If they hadn't banned boost it would no doubt be up front today. In fact, the 1974 45 year old engine would have no challengers in today's 750 hp Indy engines.

You seem to forget that they have been out for over 4 years and people on here have over 200k miles on them.
They are built stouter than any other F150 motor...maybe ever! I have the 3.5, but the 2.7 is actually stronger and seems to have the least problems. v8's included.

We discovered in that video that the 5.0 is definitely slowest. Good if you don't want to break a driveshaft...as the 2.7 was able to do in a spectacular fashion! LOL

It's like my 1.5L Honda. It gets great fuel economy simply because it doesn't have the capacity to burn much fuel. The 5.0 in stock form is the same way. The two turbochargers on the EB motors give them the ability to generate significant power, but that power comes at the expense of more fuel used.
The old adage that it's Eco or Boost is fairly accurate with any turbo motor.
