Anybody that’s ever been into RC planes or cars understand that the electrics stomp all over the I/C powered vehicles. It will be a teething process but once it gets more refined...whoa! Lookout.

i would love to have an all-electric F150 one day. just gotta get down to a reasonable charge time (preferably an hour or less) and a decent range (500+ miles).

Ford apparently can't or won't fix frozen electrically operated door locks.
Now they're gonna build an electrically operated vehicle?

No way i'd buy one especially the first public release.

An all-electric F-150 does sound interesting.

The 85 kw battery pack in a Tesla S weighs about 1200 pounds.

Does anyone have any guesses as to how much a 5.0 engine + a 10-speed tranny + a front diff + a rear diff + a radiator and fans + a 12v battery + an exhaust system + a gas tank might weigh??

Feel free to add something I missed. Of course, it will not be for everyone, but a whole lot of people in business and personal use don't put over 200 miles on every day, and that is easily doable with today's batteries.

Talk about simple.

They are making some pretty bold claims for that Atlis pickup, be interesting to see if they can deliver on them.

E-enthusiasts focus on the good stuff and ignore the bad.

Yeah electric torque and power is phenomenal.

But hours and hours to recharge sucks.

Gasoline is still has 100 times the energy density of the best lithium ion battery.

Batteries are slowly getting better.....so are gas motors.

Batteries arent microchips.....dont expect Moores law type evolution.

Every mile driven in an Evehicle translates to 1-2 pounds of coal burned somewhere for the recharge.

And whats the price for a replacement battery pack? They do eventually wear out and i doubt unless defective its covered under warranty.
You're right, not for everyone. Maybe for deep city dwellers that don't venture out of they're 5 mile radius safety zone.
Living out in the country i put a lot of miles on my vehicles just to buy a gallon of milk or a 6-pack, no way i'd trust a battery charge to get to and back home again.

The only way i'd buy one of these is with a hybrid system, at least there'd be a backup power source.
And even then, no way.

I have been reading up on 2020 for about 3 months. The big problem for me is you have to plug them in every night.
