I was going to order a Platinum tomorrow but now I think I will wait for this.
So Android Auto and Apple Carplay maybe integrated in 2016, because they said Sync 3 will be available in Late 2015 models and Auto and Carplay will be after Sync 3.

Really classes up the joint.
You are definitely right about it being easier to make selections.
I'm glad you like it too.
I just ordered one for my truck. I did not like the mater screen, and does it ever show fingerprints!

I think Android Auto and CarPlay will be intergrated more with App Link 3, which comes out later. Sync 3 sounds like the pre-req for app link.

Definitely digging the wi-fi connectivity as well! I'm sure someone will figure out how to mount a hard drive in the car and connect to it wirelessly.

**Edit, will also wait for a 2016 if this is the case!

After reading the various topics... I do believe Sync 3 will be upgraded to eventually support android auto and apple carplay... I think this will be pushed out to all sync 3 units too. For that reason plus the upgrades in sync 3 over sync 2 alone, I am painfully going to wait until I can get it in the truck. If I thought I could later on buy a sync 3 unit and swap them out, I'd maybe consider jumping on a '15 now as I'm really ready to get another truck and get rid of my car.

Exact same boat my friend. It makes it easier that I don't plan on buying till August in either case though. I plan on keeping what I buy for 10+ years, and want it, and it's features to stand the test of time.

I was also planning on buying a 2015 model because I liked the new changes in the design. I picked up a 2014 on a 2yr lease so I can buy the 2017, which should have the Android Auto and maybe 10spd tranny.

Thats a good idea. I need power folding mirrors to get the damn things into my garage, all I have seen around me are EB XLTs that don't interest me.
