I'm in the market, and all I'm also finding are the OEM option or the BedStep2. Would like some real-world feedback for the 15+ F150 use.
I ended up going with the OEM bed steps. I found a set of takeoffs, pretty much new for a great price. Only catch was there was no hardware. With a bit of searching I was able to source the hardware locally (bolts from a hardware store and the special nuts from an auto parts place). Overall I'm pretty happy with them. I put them on at the start of last summer and they worked great. Until winter came, when it's cold and snowy they obviously don't work too well. When I need them I have to pretty much manually pull them out by hand. I'm ok with this however for the price I got them for. I'm sure once the weather gets nicer again and I lube them up they'll work great again.

The Amp is a no brainer for me. Functional, well made, simple smart design and function. It is the best thing I've put on my truck. Getting in and out could not be easier. I'm a 60 year old guy that is in and and out of the bed often. My brother has the side steps and the tailgate step on his King Ranch. His side steps are hit or miss, and I can get in and out of my bed a half dozen times before he gets his tailgate step open. Go for the Amp!

You have a picture of it in the closed position?

Bestop makes a similar looking one as well

Yes that looks like a good solution for those that don't have the bed step. However I think we're talking about the side steps that allow you to reach stuff at the front of the bed without having to climb up onto the rear tire, for those of us that are vertically challenged...

Heck, I'm 6'4" and I spec'd the OEM box steps on my truck and they're one of my favorite features. They're great for accessing the bed for heavier items or helping from getting dirt or scratching the truck when unloading. I also use them every time I wash as even I am no where near capable of mitting the roof. I've also never had an issue with them popping out when requested, but I do spray them down good and wash as necessary to keep the snow/dirt/gravel/mud from building up and impeding their usefulness.
