Lets hope issue #1 is not...My F150 hybrid just pulled a Galaxy Note 7.

Not something i would early adopt...let them get the kinks worked out of this one for a while.

You need torque for pulling from a dead start, not horsepower.

I should have phrased it torque. The torque Telsa develops off the line is nuts. That is why they have that insane mode.

Very disappointed in this announcement, I was really hoping fora completely electric F150 similar to the fully electric SUV they also announced today.

This announcement actually will only force me to delay my future purchase of any F150 knowing that maybe one day an electric F150 could be possible.

Obviously an electric pickup truck isn't feasible at the moment for any heavy duty use but for a casual everyday consumer like myself I would love it. I already have a Tesla Model S and I'll probably be looking to sell it in a couple years so who knows what I'll end up getting.

I really hope Ford does it, if they don't I'll go with whoever makes it.

It doesn't have to tow, it doesn't have to carry a heavy load, it can just be a regular electric car but with a truck body! The truck's bed will just serve as any other car's trunk except bigger, it doesn't need to carry 2 tons! Hell, Ford already reduced a bunch of the F150's weight with the aluminum body so that's already a step that directly benefits them if they decide to go electric.

So if I read this correctly, you want an all electric truck based on looks and not on function (as far as payload/towing/mileage range)?

Don't forget the giant trunk. Very important.

I dont see this working. GM tried it with the GMT900 back in '09 and was never sold well despite it getting 20 mpg city. I think Diesel is more viable since people want/need torque in these trucks.

A diesel doesn't have the instantaneous torque that an electric motor has.
