Don't overthink it.
The truck has a baseline calculation and you are adjusting it. My number was 934 because my truck is optimistic. In essence, think of the factory 1000 as 100.0%....my 934 will take the factory baseline and multiply it by 93.4% to display what my particular truck gets for mpg versus the factory baseline.

The main thing I'm wondering is some people say their LOM is dead on, but most are off like mine.

Too many acronyms floating around already.
LOM = Lie-O-Meter.
It is the MPG readout on your truck. This calculation adjusts all the MPG readings...instant, trip 1, trip 2, etc...

Well, tried it in my 16 Lariat, it is off by 1 MPG, and can't get into EM. Pressed OK held it, pressed the start button, everything lights up, press brake to start shows up, wait for accessory mode to come up, step on brake and press start again and truck starts with the normal screen. Tried it a few times with same results, and waited for the dash to go dark each time, but the power is still active to the GPS and the USB, so will wait another 15 or so minutes for the entire truck to power down and try again. First time I tried the door was open, so maybe that was it. Apparently all power must be off when doing it, so will see if thats the case.

Awesome, gonna give this a try shortly. Mines usually off by about 1 mpg. Currently sitting at about 21.2 and hand calc will come in right around 20.2. Gonna change mine to 953 and run a few tanks and adjust again if needed.

I guess that could be useful. My truck is pretty close in the summer and off by (usually) 1-1.5mpg in the winter, spring and fall are in between. Makes me think that it uses a different fuel table until the engine is at operating temperature, it's calculating from the 'at operating temperature' fuel table all the time. Remote start affects it as well.

I'm impatient and left work to go try this. Worked perfect on the 4 inch screen. Only thing is that you don't need to hit down when you find the right one. Just hit left or right to change the number. If you hold the arrow down it skips fast.

My MPG calc was spot on what I thought it should be after this. Now shows 20.2 instead of 21.2.
